Ruth is an artist… she brought along these colored pencils to incorporate into one of her photos. You know, like seniors are supposed to.:DWell, when I talked to her on the phone the day before and asked her what she was bringing… she mentioned the pencils. I got REALLY excited… I LOVED that she brought along the things that I would have at her age. Then came the task of making colored pencils and paint brushes in a photo not be cheesy. I spent the evening brainstorming decheesifying pose ideas… and this is what we came up with:)I happen to LOVE it:D

AUSTIN, Texas WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!! How much fun did we have, you ask? A LOT! Ruth is so cool. She was incredibly easy to photograph, can’t you tell?! She has it all… talent, style, beauty, personality, ambition, confidence…. see, told you she had it all!:D

I asked her how she found our website all the way in Indiana… she said she found us on the Trash the Dress site when we were the photographer of the week, and she’s been following us since. HOW NEAT IS THAT?! She said she “didn’t know wedding photography could be cool.”:)We certainly try to make it cool!

Her mom came along for the shoot. WE LOVE GWEN! As you guys know, Mikey and I have sort of a quirky photo style… and sometimes moms don’t really get that. HOWEVER, Gwen (her mom) was FULL of REALLY awesome ideas! She even ENCOURAGED our quirkiness!:)LOVE IT!

Ruth is currently transitioning from being a senior into going to art school… I cannot wait to see where the world of art takes her.:D

Thanks you two for making the trip down from Fort Worth… we had a blast!

LOVE!

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. We had the pleasure of meeting Miss Elizabeth last week… and what a beautiful baby girl she is!!

This is Abby and Joe’s first baby and what an awesome time it is for them! Joe is such a caring, sweet and gentle daddy. Elizabeth is sure to be a daddy’s girl. Abby is full of excitement, love and she definitely has that new momma glow. It’s such an amazing thing to witness.:D

Here’s a fun story:)Abby is the webmaster and the person who runs the official Davy Jones fan site. She has been for YEARS!:DJoe is a HUUUUUUUGE Monkees fan, too. Ten or so years ago many of the Davy Jones fan site members decided to all meet up at a Chicago concert. Joe was a part of the fanclub, too:DSo, they were both there…. one thing lead to another and BADA BOOM BADA BING… a match made in Monkees heaven! You should see their Monkees collection… it’s INCREDIBLE! Abby thought it might be a fun idea to take some photos of Elizabeth amidst the collection, and so… we did!:DHOW FUN!;)I do have to say, being in a room with tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise did make me a bit nervous.:)

PS. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAYYYYY FROM TEXAS:D

the grammy’s

I used to live for the Grammy’s… every year I would mark it off of my calendar and would anxiously await all of the over the top performances, belted ballads and yearly awards. This year was no exception.

Well, MUCH to my surprise the Cirque du Soleil Beatles LOVE show made an appearance. I saw this show last year in Vegas and NEVER in my life have I seen something so incredible. I still get chills at the thought of it. Well… the Grammy performance was awesome…. (though seeing it in person, there’s NO way they could have ever given it justice… but well… you know)

THEN… THE BEATLES WON A GRAMMY!!!!!! Now, anyone who REALLY knows me knows that I’m a HUUUUUUUUUUGE Beatles fan…. like, RIDICULOUS! Well, when Ringo got up to accept his Grammy, I was crying like a baby. My reaction even shocked ME. Seeing Ringo and George Martin up there without John Lennon and George Harrison made me sob. Yeah, I know… I’m a little dramatic. But, wow.

Here is some of my Beatles artwork from when I was 15:)YOU HEARD ME RIGHT… FIFTEEEEEN YEARS OLD!!!! Yeah, told you I was a big fan.

This was made out of ripped magazine ads.

This was my first ever acrylic painting…

This has been the best Grammy’s awards show (thus far) that I’ve EVER seen! And it’s not even halfway over. I’m in heaven! I’m thinking that with the Writer’s Guild strike… there was a need for more performances and less talking. I wish that they’d do this more often! AWESOME!!!!!

Oh, and… Tina Turner’s performance was AH-MA-ZINNNNNG! I looked it up… she was born in 1939… WOW!!!! My grandma was born in 1939:)WORK IT OUT TINA!!!!!!!

Alright…. enough of me being overly excited.:D

Anyone else out there watching? What do you think?????

~:!:+

PS. I’ll be back to regularly scheduled blogging soon… I’ve been FEVERISHLY working on a new bobbi+mike website that I cannot WAIT to show you:)
