jamaica, ya mon!

Yes yes yes… that’s where we are:)Pauline and Jim are getting married here tomorrow and guess who’s photographing it?! US!

Can you guys believe we’ve had two back to back destination weddings this month?! Us either! We have one more in May and then not again until next January. BUT… if anyone else out there is in need, CALL US!!!

We’re having blast, enjoying the sun, relaxing, working, shooting, eating, (more about my diet later, EEEKS!), swimming, funning (not a word… shut up, it is now!), sleeping, etc. It’s been great…:)

Here’s what I have to say re: a wedding in Jamaica… the weather is PERRRRRFECT! It’s breezy, sunny, warm… but not too warm, and even a bit cloudy (which we, as photographers, LOVE).

You know… I would LOVE to come out here with a big group of friends or our families… or better yet, BOTH… I just feel like this environment would be so much fun with the people that we love. And THAT is another reason a destination wedding would be so perfect. If we ever renew our vows… SIGN US UP!!!!!

I thought I’d head out of our little living spot all by my lonesome and grab a few photos. This was what I came back with.

It had just quit raining…

Okay I’m back:D

Here we are at the famous “Whisper Wall” on Ohio State’s campus. It’s this half circular thing that’s about 75′ wide where you can stand on one side and whisper… and the person on the other end can here you clearly. It’s SO damn COOL!

COLUMBUS, OHIO Eric and Erin…. where do I begin?!

Erin and Eric chose some AMAZING locations! We started out in a creek behind some houses where they would often take walks when they lived there. Then we went under a bridge where they had inscribed their names… but, that has since been covered by the city… oh well… the bridge was AWESOME! Then finally we spent our last fifteen minutes of light on OSU’s campus… where they met:D

Here’s a first… we were there the night they got engaged.:DDo you have any idea how cool that is?! WE WERE THERE THAT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!! How… you might ask?! Erin was a bridesmaid in Jameeeeeeee and Todd’s wedding, which happened to be a ski resort in New York…. which was SUPER romantic and Eric couldn’t resist the moment and BADABOOM BADABING… they’re getting married! Eric came to me two days prior to let me know that when they got married we would be his photographer, DUH!:DHe then let me in on his plan to ask her. He asked if we could be around later that night so we could grab photos after he popped the question… and with that comes another DUH… OF COURSE WE CAN BE!!!!!

And here they are…:)

INDIANAPOLIS Kari and Elias are so amazingly perfect for each other. These two have more in common than any other couple I’ve ever known. Kari and Elias both moved to D.C. to work in politics, love to read, are interested in current affairs, foreign and domestic relations… I could go on and on… see, told you they were a perfectly matched couple:D

This was Mikey and I’s first experience at a full Jewish ceremony/reception… WOWWWWWEEEEE!!!!! WE HAD FUN!!!!!! They signed a Ketubah (the wedding contract), started the ceremony with ta badeken, got married under a chuppah, stomped on glass, blessed over the challah (braided bread). My favorite part was the Hora… circle dancing, the crazy clarinetter (not a word, I know), and throwing the bride and groom up and down on chairs. It was such a great party! I believe that celebration is called the Hora. ☺ Kari and Elias, along with their guests, danced ALL night long. Oh… and maybe we did some dancing too ☺ Hey… there’s no shame! WORK IT OUT!

Kari, on the morning of the wedding was SO incredibly excited… she couldn’t sit still… back and forth and back and forth and back and forth… she was so cute! ☺

As if shooting our first Jewish wedding wasn’t awesome enough… this was the first ceremony to happen at this synagogue! How lucky were we to get to be the first wedding photographers there?! I’m ready to go back! Sid, think you can make that happen?:D

As a COMPLETE sidenote… When we met with Kari for the first time… we also met with her mom and dad. I remember the VERY first thing her mom said to me was, “HEY! You guys have to go check out that ‘horse dog’ outside.”

“Horse dog,” I thought… “I better go see what this is all about!”

Because Kari hadn’t seen this creature yet, she made Kari and I go check it out together. Kari was a bit embarrassed that she had to go out to look at this supposed horse dog… but off we went. That horse dog was so dang cool! I’ve since seen the dog around town and every time I see it I think of the Dunn family:)Okay, that was a little off topic… but it’s something that I will never forget. My moment with Kari and the horse dog:)ANYWAY!!!!!…

You two are an amazing couple… and we feel so honored that we were able to share such an important day with you. Thanks for everything.:)

Love love love!
