kat+skip

Kat got ready in a GORGEOUS bed and breakfast in West Lafayette.

And ARE YOU KIDDDDDDING ME?! ORANGE SHOES?!??!?! ME WANT ME WANT ME WANNNNNNT!

Kat never quit making this face all day… she was one of the happiest brides I've ever met.

How SASSY is that scarf?!  It's SO Kat!

Some guys golf, some go fishing… we've even seen soccer.  But… NEVER have we seen Scrabble. :)  How cool is that!?  Here's Skip playing Scrabble with his three sons. Mikey's favorite:?:

Skip told Mike that Kat's favorite photo from their engagement session was the one where they were laying down.  Skip thought it would be fun to surprise Kat with a photo with his sons.  So… SURPRISE KAT!!!!!

They saw each other before the ceremony…:)

HOW CUUUUUTE ARE THEY?!  This photo really captures their relationship perfectly.  Skip was probably saying, "wow, you look beautiful!" and she was probably saying, "DON'T I?!" Gosh we LOVE you guys!  My favorite shot of the day:!:

Maybe you remember from their engagement session… but Kat and Skip got married at the Samara House… A Frank Lloyd Wright house:)

Their ceremony was so perfect in every way… they had (now forgive me if I'm wrong) a flute, an accordion, a mandolin and a guitar… it was all just so them.

Kat and Skip stayed true to EVERYTHING Samara.  I think the leaves that she had put in her bouquet were the same leaves from one of the plants on the grounds.

Even as she's crying… she's smiling. :D

Many of Kat's family is Hawaiian… at the end of their vows they had a lei ceremony where all of Kat's immediate family participated.  Hence… the lei's :)   That's the famous Dr. Christian on the far left sitting with his daughter Linda.  Dr. Christian owns the house:)

Skip's brother capturing it all on film.

They memorized their vows… it was awesome.

There's that Lei Ceremony I was talking about earlier:)

 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.  There are so many things that I love about these two and I don't even know where to begin.  GO FIGURE!

Kat Kat Kat Kat KATTTTT!!!! Wow.  She's SO INCREDIBLY full of life.  Gosh, I have SUCH a respect for her.  With Kat, you ALWAYS know what's on her mind.  She lives life to the max.  She's loud, she's funny, she cusses, she's comfortable in any situation, she's genuine, she's confident, and she's Kat… and well, we love her.:D

Skip is quieter and BOY OH BOY does he have SUCH a huge amount of love for her.  Before the ceremony, it was just the two of us for a bit at the Samara House when Skip was telling me how much he loves her, respects her and was so happy to be marrying her.  AHHHH WHAT A PERFECT COUPLE!

Their ceremony… THEIR CEREMONY… by far my FAVORITE part of their day.  The way they looked at each other, how personal it was, the setting, (AYKM?!), the music, the vows, the intimacy… perfect.

And now that I've mentioned the Samara House a gazillion times… I have to say that this was the first wedding ever to be held there.  Neat, huh?!  Kat and Skip are HUGE Frank Lloyd Wright fans… I already knew that going in to their wedding day but I didn't know the extent of it.  From the table numbers, to the bouquet and even the program were all Frank Lloyd Wright themed.  Pretty neat, huh?:D

To Kat and Skip, thank you so much for allowing us into your lives on well… the biggest day ever… it couldn't have been more perrrrfect.

LOOOOOVE LOVE LOVE!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Katie and Burny are such a fun couple!  We LOVE being around them!  Burny is so funny and Katie is ridiculously sweet…Have I mentioned that we love being around them?

The session started out, as you can see… with their dog Shortie:)Katie's mom picked him up after a we took a few with her.  Poor Mikey got slobberfied by Shortie, it was HILARIOUS!!!!!

Louisville… WOWZERRRRRS!!!! We LOVE that town!!!! Shooting there is SO fun!  We got there early to scope some ideas for a location.  Once we got there Katie suggested a spot, too.  We started heading towards her idea when Mikey and I realized that we had all picked the same photo spots.  Good work team!:D

See you in Juuuuuuune!

Love!

Recently we got an email from a photographer who had a question:)… her email was this:

"I have a goofy quick question … I am getting more and more into taking photos from ground level and noticed that you and Mike do that a lot (love the photos of you both in action!). Anyway, I was wondering if you took the time to lay a barrier on the ground or do you just get down and dirty?  I ask, because I've laid down before and got my whole front a bit dusty and then felt a bit odd, and wondered if that was unprofessional of me. I can see guy photogs doing this with no questions, but is it okay for us girl photogs to get down and dirty on the job?"

My answer to this… and though I may be in the minority of other female wedding photographers… I do what I have to do to get the shot.  Whether that's laying down in the dirt, sitting in an uncomfortable position, or just plain making a fool of myself… I'm not scared.

Again, I'm probably in the minority here.  Maybe you've noticed that during an engagement session I don't dress up… I wear comfortable clothes.  I'm not out there to impress anyone with my fashion sense (or lack thereof:))… I'm there to ensure that the people in front of my lens look great, feel great and get amazing photos.

And on a wedding day… same thing :)  I have my suit dry cleaned and heavily starched before every weekend… that way if I'm rolling around on the ground, just a little dust off of the suit… and it looks like it did when I first put it on that morning :)

So, I hope my ADD writing style was able to be followed and that I answered your question… EEEEEKS!!!!!!

Mike couldn't resist taking a photo. :)  Corrie, you jealous of that?!

:!:+:?:

nicole+andy

We found an old truck that was used to deliver dry cleaning…. Pretty cool, huh?!

While we were back there, an old man came out of that door on the right and said, "this isn't a pretty setting, is it?!" oh absolutely it is!

Back to that old truck… ;)

The light this day was the best I've ever seen in Indiana… GAH!  Why can't every day be like this?! Mikey's favorite:?:

speechless. Heather's Favorite:)

Andy, you're a stud.

Nicole, you're gorgeous.  DUH-TOWN!

We've been to this spot before… $10 iTunes gift certificate to the first person who can name that session. (if it was YOUR session or you're related to that couple, you're ineligible)  last time we were there though, it didn't have graffiti on the yellow arrow.

My view.

Mikey's view.  I like his better:)Doesn't it make you want to snuggle? My favorite:!:

Wow.  And uh… another favorite:!:

I'm so proud of these photos.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  Wow… I love every every every one of these… why?  Because I think that in many of them…we captured them exactly as they are when no one's looking. Know what I mean?  I love the warmness, the snuggliness, the silliness, the loveiness, the everything about this session.

A few years ago, Mike and I were walking through the mall when I stopped to look at the Croc shoe kiosk.  The person working the booth said, "are you Bobbi and Mike, the wedding photographers?" Why yes yes yes, we are!  She then told us that she and her sister looked at our blog every day… and they were both close to being engaged. Well… that girls name is Kristen and Kristen's sister is Nicole (they're actually triplets, HOW COOL IS THAT?!)

Meet Kristen.  I happened to have my point and shoot with me that day, so I took a pictcha.  And PS. How HOT TAMALE is my hair color here!

About a year later, Kristen asked us about shooting her wedding… but, we were already booked:(.  But, when Nicole inquired… we were available!  Soooo…. the whole purpose of this little story is to say that Nicole has been following our work for years (even back in the old blogspot days):DWOWZAS!!!! And now finally… it was her turn to be photographed and to have HER photos on this blog.  She was SOOOO excited!!!! I just love her!

Can't WAIT for your wedding you two!!!!!

LOOOOOOOVE!

~bobbi+mike

greg

Meet Mike's brother Greg.  He just turned 21… for his birthday, we got him a haircut.  I'm a fan.

Last time we were in Fort Wayne, Mike had some errands to run… so I thought it would be fun to photograph Greg… you know, just for fun :)  Because well… Greg IS fun!

He's one of the funniest people I know.  Sometimes I fall over from laughing so hard…

Over the past couple of years, Greg has had numerous surgeries done to his foot/ankle… he's still in the recovery process.  Needless to say, we did a lot of this session sitting down:D

MY LEGS ARE MELLLLLTINNNNNG!
