CHICAGO. Caitlin and Crew are SUCH a blast to hang out with… I think my stomach hurt after the session because I was laughing so hard… so thanks you two for the amazing ab workout during the session. WIN/WIN! You see… we went from zero to 100000% comfortable within seconds… and I LOVE when that happens!

You see… after the session, we all went back to Caitlin's apartment to talk about wedding stuff… it was there that Crew and I realized that we both are quite fidgitty… at one point, I looked over and noticed that we were both peeling back the paper sticker off of the water bottle… and then proceeding to fold it into a nice little triangle… how random is that?! 

We had so much fun exploring the outskirts of downtown Chicago with these guys!  We SO canNOT wait to hang out with you in May!

 The girls got ready in a HUGE hotel suite (full of big windows, thank you!). I LOVE when hair and makeup is brought to the bride/bridesmaids… more fun and relaxing that way.

 This was THE most amazing venue we've EVER seen for a ceremony/reception… hands down.  If you're a Chicago bride, and looking for amazingness… do two things. 1) hire bobbi+mike 2) get married at the Armour House (not necessarily in that order )

 Towards the end of the night, Mike showed me THIS shot on the back of his camera and says, "DOESN'T SHE LOOK LIKE A BADASS?!" It's money! Mike's favorite

 

CHICAGO. Writing about perfecto weddings is getting more and more difficult for me… especially ones like U-Um and Brian's!  Why, you ask? Because… I'm not a very good writer… I just don't have enough words to describe its amazingness… Luckily for you… we're pretty good photographers, so we can just show you its perfection! This wedding was a day that Mike and I will never forget… the entire day was full of win.

U-Um is the kind of person I wish that I were… ALWAYS full of smiles, incredibly patient, oh so passionate and the sweeeeeeetest of the sweet!  U-Um and Brian have two amazing kids (pictured above entering the reception)… so these two had a long engagement   It was clear that a lot of time, energy and thought went into each and every detail there…. and, as you can see… it was all PERFECTO!

Speaking of their kids… Tyler, who's 2…. is a bit accident prone. At our initial meeting… which was at a park (the kids were along, and it seemed like a perfect idea)… While Tyler was coming down the slide, he somehow tumbled head first and landed RIGHT on his head…. within seconds, blood is gushing out of his face SOOOO… our meeting was cut short with a visit to the emergency room. That's something that I'm guessing hasn't happened to too many wedding photographers At the end of the day, and a few stiches later… we were their photographers!  

We adooooooore you two… and cannot WAIT until you two need family photos.

 I HAD to get a photo with these amazing bridesmaids… BTW, how cuuuute that U-Um changed

 

 Seconds after that shot… this happened.   I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I'm tearing up just looking at it. Yeahyeahyeah, I'm a cheeseball, get over it.

Okay team… a few things:

1. I, NEVER in a MILLION years, thought that we'd be receiving SIXTY THREE before photos…. AYKM… 63!??!?!! WOWWWWWZERS!!!!!!  Not only have we received that many photos… there are at LEAST twenty more who've said that they want to participate but haven't been able to take their photos (on vacation, husband's working graveyard shift, at a workshop, camera's in the shop, etc, etc…) and with the 5 days notice… it just wasn't enough. SO, I'm extending the deadline until NEXT Friday. That also means that if you felt rushed into taking your picture and didn't love the quality… you're more than welcome to resubmit.  
2. Because we did receive SOOOOO many photos… and 90% of them said that the 8 week contest was just the beginning… we've decided to extend… and by extend I mean… EXXXXTENNNNND!  The NEW contest end date is February 19th.  WHY February 19th? Well… most all of you fit into two categories… photographers and Indiana locals… often, both MANY people didn't sign up because you're not close to Indianapolis (to receive the prize). SO… February 19th is two weeks before WPPI in Las Vegas…. we'll announce the winner February 26th annnnnnd… we can take your HOT HOT HOT photo IN Vegas If you're NOT a photographer… and you're still willing to make the trip to Indianapolis OR live here… we can still do the session here. AHHHH I'M SOOOO EXCIIIIIITED!
3. If you were only doing this little contest because of it's short termness… then no worries… we're also going to be having a winner then… the prize? $100 gift card to your favorite clothing store YEAHYEAHYEAH! That's kind of a big deal…! Afterall… it'll be time for some NEW CLOTHES BABIES!!!!!
4. I've had MANY people ask, "Is it a total loss or body weight percentage lost?" Total loss just isn't fair… As some people only have 15 pounds to lose… while others have more.  So, the answer is body weight percentage… sorta. Because I don't want anyone being dishonest just to win (I've had this happen in the past)… We will take the top several losers and show your OH SO dramatic before/after photos to a panel of judges (consisting of health experts) and BADABOOM BADABING we'll have a winner! I think this is the most fair solution to having a contest online.
5. I started a "bobbi's healthy train" group on Facebook… ANYONE can join… not just the people with the before pics. My trainer is also a member… so if you have fitness questions, ask 'em there!  If you need encouragement, we're there.  It's already been a great place… as it's SO much easier to do this in a group than by yourself. We'd love to have you there…
6. If you're a twitterer… And you're on the healthy train… and you happen to twitter ABOUT the healthy train.. be sure to tag it with #healthytrain  K? k. If you're interested, here's my twitter feed.
7. I don't want to be a debbie downer… but, I REEEEEEEALLY hope that EVERY single one of you are still on this healthy train in February! On my last healthy train, we started with around 75 people… and by the end… of those 75 people… only a small percentage were left.  Don't let me down team… getting healthy is a commitment!
8. I'VE LOST 2.2 POUNDS THIS WEEK! YESYESYESYES! What a PERFECT way to start off my healthy train! We're not going to talk about how much I've gained back when I wasn't on the healthy train… but, at least we're moving in the right direction! For those of you who started this week… how much have YOU lost????

I hope I didn't overwhelm you all with all of that… and I hope you're not mad at me for changing up the contest… but, that's the way it's gonna be!

A TIP: cut out the little straps used to hang up your dress… You most likely won't be hanging it up again (don't they usually go in boxes?)… and I GUARANTEEEEEEE YOU… even if think they're stuck in REALLY well… they WILL pop out… and they'll pop out at a time when I'm not able to help you push them back in… vow exchange, cake cutting, etc.  TRUST me on this!

EDITED TO ADD: I TOTALLY forgot to mention that THIS is where Mike and I got married… and boy oh boy shooting there together for the first time brought back SO many amazing memories.

 If you look closely to the photo on the left… you'll see that I switched the maid of honor with the best man… he's even carrying a bouquet Just cause! WACKY BOBBI!!!!!  Oh, and that photo on the right… AYKM?! I LOOOOOOOVE MEN IN TUXES!!!!!!

A blue sky like this isn't too common here in Indianapolis. As you can tell, we took FULL advantage of it!

 

I love how much you love each other. Just do.

 

 

Scott and his best man Frank have been best friends for YEARS… they have a kind of friendship that I've never seen before… and it was perfecto.  You see, somewhere in the night… they decided to have a dance off… and I think it was the funniest thing I'd seen all month!  Who won?! Well… after about 5 minutes… Emily jumped out on the dance floor and CLEARLY took the prize!

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. I genuinely don't think I've met two nicer people in my entire life.  Everything they do and say exudes kindness… and everyone who's around them is always smiling.  It's amazing.

During Amanda, the maid of honor's speech… she said something along the lines of, "clearly you two are amazing people that are so loyal… because just LOOK at how long you hold on to each relationship" You see, Emily and Scott are high school sweet hearts. Almost  every single wedding party member Emily and Scott have known since middle school and earlier… WOW TO THAT Like I said earlier, I'm just so impressed with these two.

At the reception, I could NOT stop smiling… as a matter of fact… my cheeks hurt at the end of the night from all of the smiling! From the amazing speeches, loving parents, the dance off, a grandma who LOVED to boogie, seeing families we've worked with in the past, to Emily and Scott dancing to nearly every song… it really was the perfect evening.

One thing I HAVE to mention… everyone kept talking about how much they travel… I didn't think anything of it until I saw their slideshow running in a side room at the reception… now I don't FULLY remember EVERY photo, but there was a photo of them in Asia, in front of the Taj Mahal, on a camel in front of a pyramid in Egypt.  I KNOW there's more… So, I'm going to go do some Facebooking to be reminded of their amazing travels. Okay, I'm back… after a bit of research, here's what I've got, they studied abroad together in the UK and have spent a summer living in India and traveling across Asia.  Oh and Scott has also studied in the Czech Republic and Spain. AYKM?! ANNNNND they're two years younger than us. WHAT??!?!!  How absolutely awesome are they?!

 Just as an FYI, there are only photos of me working this time… You see, its a LOT easier for Mike to grab snaps of me on a wedding day because I'm the one who's directing the shots… and often times Mike just doesn't have an angle because, for the most part… I like to shoot really close to people… and I'm all over the place. There is NO ONE who could shoot with me but him… and I'm SO thankful for him.
