Hi friends!

Mike and I are sorta known for our creative holiday cards This year when I'd casually mention preparing for this year's card, the FIRST thing they'd usually say was, "how are you ever going to top last years?!"

To which I would respond… "we're not going to try" So, needless to say, there's a lot of pressure coming up with the best idea… and LIKE ALWAYS… this years came just a FEW days before we were scheduled to shoot. 

So… without further ado…

 

 

The front of the card:

 For those who've never heard The Pussycat Dolls song "Don't Cha" then you probably think I'm compleeeetely full of myself… but I assure you, that's far from the case (the card is a play on words from THAT song) You see… I'm RIDICULOUSLY modest (to a fault)… my legs haven't been seen in public since I was in the 7th grade… true story.  Mike, however, was a fan of the costume

 When I first met him and saw other photos of him on Facebook I thought he looked JUST like his dad… HOWEVER, after taking his photo I've since changed my mind He definitely does have Mark's nose… but that mouth/those lips and his little chin… that's Tasha, ALL THE WAY!

Newborns are used to being very bundled up, especially in the winter. When you take them out of their blanket cocoon for photos… they're usually not fans

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  Since I've known Tasha, she's been so excited to be a mom… and let me tell you, she's a natural, and of course… perfect   Seeing these two with their son was just so surreal to me. It's SO great seeing these families grow from engagement session/wedding/maternity and now a newborn session… there's nothing more fulfilling than this. Just sayin'.  

Tasha and Mark… those two will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. Just will. For those who've been following this blog for the past 3 years, then I'm sure you understand… I can't really explain it Tasha said it best in the comment section of the blog after her maternity session:

"…….the truth is it wouldn't be a monumental occasion in Mark and I's life unless you and Mike were there to capture it…and not in a conspicuous kind of way, but in true Bobbi and Mike style where you are actually a part of our special occasion. Love to you guys and thanks again.  Can't wait for Elijah's session!!!!!"

BTW yes yes yes, if some of the paint colors look familiar… that's because it is… we took these in our studio. Now USUALLY, our studio is for meetings only as it's not really set up to shoot in… but then Tasha said her house had no windows. So, we made it happen… and for Tasha+Mark… we'd do anything It took a little bit of rearranging, but the light in here is the BEST available light EVER

It's Christmas card time friendos

Yeah yeah yeah… I realize it's in 10 days, but that's how we roll!  Nothing like getting your bobbi+mike card on Christmas Eve!

Almost every bride has the same get ready routine as it's quite the process to prepare for the big day…. hair, makeup, dress, etc. Guys, however… It's always interesting to see what they do to fill their time before putting their tux on This team… poker.

 

 Then they made lunch We here in the midwest are quite the creative bunch!  That contraption on the right? It's a drill attachment used to push a potato through that little cutting device to make, according to Mike, the YUMMIEST french fries/curly fries EVER!  Oh, and in case you were wondering… yes yes yes, they're deep fried Sounds YUMTOWN to me!

 ADORED these bridesmaids! That car behind the girls has been in Courtney's family since 1941.

 

The first look (if you're getting married after Daylight Savings time keep in mind that, ESPECIALLY here in Indiana, the sun sets SUPER early… it's almost not an option to see each other before the ceremony if you want outdoor naturally lit photos… so keep that in mind when planning your day )

 By the end of the night… Mike and I look ROUGH!  We should really take this earlier in the day… but, there's just no time for it.  ON THE OTHER HAND… Courtney's hair poof still looks AMAZING! Don't lie, were you wearing a bump-it?
