If there’s one thing I  can tell you about Indiana universities, it’s that those who go to Depauw LOOOOVE their college! Sarah and Brad are certainly no exception! …after all, they did meet there! It was only natural that we photographed their session on their campus.
Shooting on college campuses is a bit of a challenge… after all, campuses are made to look perfect.:DSo finding interesting / unique locations within campus isn’t always the easiest. That being said, I love a good challenge!;)
Oh symmetry, how I love thee!:DThis is not Sarah’s first time on this blog.:)You see, she is the sister to Ellen (who married Brian)… a bride we photographed and adored back in 2010.:DThen we shot a few images at each of their fraternity/sorority houses. First up, Brad’s fraternity! They warned me that the Delta Tau Delta wasn’t the most beautiful house photographically. Again, I love me a good challenge. However, I beg to differ… I thought it photographed perfectly! Then to the Alpha Phi house we went. This house was right out of a southern plantation! For the latter half of the session we went into the small town of Greencastle and snapped a few more. These two are so cute together! We came across a little farmer’s market. BOOM!

How they met, as told by Sarah  ::  We met at the very beginning of our senior year at DePauw.  We first met at a fraternity party, but didn’t really talk until the next night when we ran into each other at a local bar.  Sarah unknowingly bought Brad his favorite beer, and the rest is history!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Becky:  There were so many!  Seeing Kyle’s reaction as I walked down the aisle was priceless.  I’ll never forget that!  Also, my sisters serenading me on a ukelele and dad’s speech– I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Kyle: When I saw her walking down the aisle.

 Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Becky:  Hire vendors you trust (i.e. bobbi+mike).  It takes so much potential stress out of your wedding day!

Kyle: If you’re going to shave your beard, do so the night before– not the morning of.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Becky:   It’s a tie between my veil falling off mid-ceremony and struggling to get the wedding band on my finger.:)

Kyle: Samesies.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Becky:  I wouldn’t have scheduled it during Purdue’s move-in weekend… oops!!  Besides that, everything was lovely!

Kyle: Nope!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Maui & Oahu

Becky and Kyle, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything. Have fun living it up in Australia (how cool that they live there?!)!

Much love you two!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Ashleigh:  There were so many amazing moments…. As soon as I locked eyes with Jody as I was walking down the aisle, I completely relaxed and everyone else kind of disappeared. It was a really good feeling, and something I will never forget. There was also the carriage ride around the circle after the wedding…. The attention was amazing! I think I’m going to put my wedding dress on again this weekend and try it again.  :)

Jody: The most memorable by far was Ashleigh walking through the doorway and walking down the aisle.  She really did lock eyes with me – and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the entire ceremony.  It all came together in that moment.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Ashleigh:  EVERYONE says this, but it is completely TRUE: Take a step back and breathe. It all goes by so quickly. Don’t worry if you didn’t get to have a 20 minute conversation with everyone. Hopefully, they’re understanding!! Oh, and another thing that you have to do…. (also said by everyone, also true). HIRE bobbi+mike. And do an engagement session too. They’re the greatest people on earth!!

Jody: Once all the pieces are in place, let your vendors do the jobs you chose them to do.   And bobbi+mike are second to none.  Just enjoy your wedding, because it goes by extremely fast.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Ashleigh & Jody:  When the cake knife snapped!!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Ashleigh:  I really don’t think I would. It was the most perfect day. We had a perfect venue, all of our friends and family surrounding us, fun, and at the end of the day…. we were married!!

Jody:  Not a thing!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Sandals Whitehouse, Jamaica

I have no idea what’s going on here, but this whole scene is really funny to me.:)That is some intense ring photography!

Ashleigh and Jody, you two are insanely fun… and we couldn’t feel more lucky to have been asked to photograph your wedding. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything! We adore you both!

Much love friends,

…a prayer before the ceremony… in the ladies room.:)Meanwhile, Troy and his brothers were doing this.
Jody and her father: twins!I love buttons on the back of a dress… such a nice touch.I love me a great dad. My favorite.:!:
After the ceremony, Troy (who is a news reporter) was talking about how difficult it was to write his vows… though he didn’t refer to them as vows. He said something along the lines of, “I can write an hour worth of copy in fifteen minutes, but the five minutes that I read up there… that copy took me an hour!” It made me laugh.
BOOM!As they walked back down the aisle and into the church foyer, they were alone for fifteen seconds before the rest of their wedding party began to join them. This was what happened for those fifteen seconds. I found out later after reading the interview listed at the end of this blog entry that these fifteen seconds were Troy’s most memorable moment of his day. I’m so glad I was there to capture it. Mike’s favorite.:?:Then it was portrait time!Loved this wedding party.A scene like this is exactly what you would expect to see when two news people get married.;)…and that’s Troy’s Emmy. And the maid of honor’s toast, I couldn’t quit laughing! HAHAHA! You definitely had to be there.;)
That dress was perfect for Jodie. Then it was party time!I love this image.Such a fun party!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Jodie:  I’ll never forget walking down the aisle and seeing Troy standing there waiting for me. I also really loved our vows and I’m so happy we decided to write our own.

Troy: I will always remember the 15 seconds we had alone with each other right after we walked down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. It was the most at peace and full of joy I’ve ever been at one moment in my life.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Jodie: #1: Hire Bobbi and Mike #2 Don’t sweat the small stuff, seriously. #3 Following the kiss, after you’re first introduced as husband and wife, take a few seconds to look at the crowd and truly enjoy that moment when all of your family and friends are smiling back at you. It’s tempting to just take off down the aisle, but don’t do it. It’s your day, take your time.

Troy: What Jodie said. Also, spring for the comfortable tux shoes. Worth it.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Jodie: I absolutely loved my dress. It fit perfectly! However, because it was a mermaid style and tight, I had to take it off to use the bathroom. I’ll never forget standing in the church bathroom topless, with nothing but my shoes, underwear and veil on:)

Troy: As we prepared to read our vows to each other, the pastor asked us who would like to go first. With no hesitation, Jodie pointed at me and said: “Ladies first.” It helped to keep my emotions in check…for the next 15 seconds. Oh–I’ll also never forget standing in the church topless. No veil for me, though. Au natural.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

jodie:  It was the most perfect day. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

troy: No way. Best day ever.
