So, before I show you 2011′s card, let’s make a quick trip down memory lane… here are the last three years…
My personal favorite. I thought we’d never top this.  This was the first year I altered the bobbi+mike logo on the back to match the theme. I’ve been doing it since.

Mike’s all-time favorite… our Awkward Family Photo.

Without further ado… Our holiday card, 2011! …the year that our holiday card almost caused an accident!  You see, we were shooting in front of our home (self timer style) when a gawker swerved into the oncoming lane… SCREEEECH, HONNNNNNNNK, WHOA!!!!!!!

Though, if I had seen this scene happening I’d probably stare too… ESPECIALLY with me running back and forth in a dress that was WAY too long (I fell twice!), while a reflector hoisted to a light stand kept flying away (it was SOOOO windy)! If only we’d had video of this. I’m telling you we looked like a live British comedy show!

Oh, by the way… many people said that they thought we looked super skinny… it’s an illusion.  I stretched the photo so that it looked more like the original. ;)

Collin, are you kidding me with those dimples?!SURPRISE! SHE’S A HOT TAMALE REDHEAD!!! Abigail and Collin were our models for our last workshop of 2011… and they couldn’t have been more perfect. I love this image! When I sneak peeked it on Facebook Abigail responded, “Oh my goodness!!! Love Love Love! It’s like you captured a secret moment!”I love how much you love her.“I ooooonly have eyes for youuuuuuu…” When I look at images of people, I always look at their hands… the hands say so much about a relationship. Just pay attention, you’ll see what I mean. …there’s nothing like a little stairwell romance!
My favorite! ….or stair romance for that matter! OHHH ABIGAIL!!!! You are so beautiful! You’re going to make such a gorgeous bride.

How they met, as told by Abigail :: “We are both from Carmel Indiana. We didn’t know each other in high school, but we met playing euchre freshman year of college. When sophomore year rolled around, we started casually hanging out- a guitar lesson here, an episode of the office there, a nerf gun fight with couch cushion shields, etc. By the time Thanksgiving break came, we wound up head over heels for each other. And the rest is history.”

Have you ever heard the name Sheridan as a first name? I know I haven’t but I’m in LOVE with it! For those of you who don’t know, that’s my last name… These two volunteered to be our workshop models :). We’re also photographing their wedding in June. BOOM! My view.  Mike’s view.Three things. 1) HELLO GORGEOUS EYES! 2) Holy big muscles Batman! 3) Uhm, Christina Ricci? Confirmed… Abandoned blue car? Don’t mind if we do! GAH! …and Mike’s. I won. BOOOOYAH!Then a quick outfit/location change to finish out the session. I’m telling you, once we were in this bucolic setting, Sheridan hit a whole new comfort level.  He must be a country boy at heart!LOVE!When can we photograph you again? Oh yeah… June! :D

These last two and a half months have been nothing short of chaos. But amazing chaos nonetheless! We’ve traveled from coast to coast for some incredible weddings, spoke at a photography conference in Michigan, photographed a ton of awesome sessions, and this past week we’ve been knee deep in bbmk workshop amazingness. Oh, and to top it off, holiday ordering deadlines are this week, BOOOOOM!

So, we’ve been shooting/traveling a ton with very little time between to process the images …and that’s what the rest of November will be full of!

As most of you know, we shot and posted an engagement session on Saturday… Lauren and Danny’s  (who were getting married the very next day).

The photo of them on a tree got us lots of high fives. Thanks for always being so kind to us. I won’t lie, I was really proud of it.

That being said, there were a few people who thought we/they worked much harder for that image than we did.

“Hmmm. that tree looks Photoshoppy?” -Shelly

“Wow You got them up a tree. Awesome! I love that shot.” -Mario

Maybe it looked like I superimposed them into that tree using Photoshop… that I took a photo of the tree and an image of them separately and pieced them together.

….or maybe I had brought a ladder and asked them to climb into the branch….

But…. we didn’t do either of those things….

“Tricky…. tricky. That tree branch is much closer to the ground than it appears.” -Tracy

BINGO!

Our clients have often heard me say, after showing up to a scene that looks less than picturesque… “It’s all about the crop!” They smile, nod and trust me. (Right Anthony )

Admittedly, getting the crop just right took me a little bit. Finding a way to remove that building thing from the image took some belly wiggling up that hill.

To prove that the scene is real… I’m posting a “getting my camera settings right before I make this perfect” image. The only Photoshopping that I did was remove an old frayed rope that appeared to be a noose (though, was probably an old rope swing)… I’m sure you understand!
