I can't get over this. Dave, you look SO handsome!  You see… he JUST got this car a week before… and was SO excited about it!  So yesyesyes… we got some photos with it   Mikey's favorite

 OOOOOKAY! So, two things here.  The photo on the left… Deb (AKA Mom) was carrying around that guitar for him when he wasn't using it in the photo.  I looked over at her and couldn't quit giggling… she just looked SO dang cute!  So I thought it would be funny to get a picture of her with it looking like a rockstar… Dave agreed…

The photo on the right, HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You know those big foam letters… the kind that read your graduation year.. and nearly every senior has them in their senior pictures? Well, we were laughing about that when Dave held up his hands in a one and zero for a photo and I about LOST IT!  I look to my right and I see Deb and BAM… I KNEW what our next photo was going to be SOOO… yes yes yes… Congratulations to Dave on graduating in '10! Please tell me you're laughing… because to us, it's hilarious!  And to Deb, thanks for being a good sport… you're such a fun mom!

LAFAYETTE, Ind. I've known Dave since he was 16… you see, we took their family photos 2 years ago and fell in LOVE with all of them So, when it came time for Dave's senior year… they didn't have an option… they were GOING to call Mike and I for his senior pictures! YEAHYEAHYEAH!

When we showed up and Dave got out of his brand new car… I about fell over. "YOU ARE SO GROWN UP!" I shouted! Man oh man I'm getting old when I start seeing teenagers and am blown away by their adulthood… ANYWAY… I just COULD NOT believe how different he looked than just three years ago, CRAZY!

Dave, I SO cannot wait to see what these next few years hold for you! You're one of the sweetest, most caring, most unique young men we've ever met…. and when I'm around you, I genuinely cannot wipe the smile off of my face. You're the real deal.

She's my youngest cousin and she's a senior… A SENIOR! GAH this makes me feel OLD!  We're nearly exactly 10 years apart… Me, class of 99.  Her, class of 09.  TWO THOUSAND AND NINE!

 Brittany's ONLY request for her session was that she wanted some photos on a swing.

 Brittany wanted photos with her boyfriend Chris, so we made it happen He was home for the holidays from the Marine Corps.

KEARNEY, Mo.  We took these while we were home for Christmas.  SOMEHOW, we got incredibly lucky as it was 55° at the end of December!  

Brittany Morgan is one in a million There are so many different sides of her. She's sweet, fun, curious, compassionate, silly, friendly and did I mention REALLY silly I love that about her… I suppose it's a family thing The silly thing that is.

Maybe you're curious why we call her by her first and middle name… NO CLUE!  They do it to me, too…  so I guess just like before…. I suppose it's a family thing.  

I’m SO excited to see where your future takes you.  And as I've said to all of my cousins… Follow your dreams… let NOTHING hold you back. I love you.

PPPS. Did you know that our photography biz started with senior portraits back in the day?

Meet my beautiful cousin Allie She’s a senior this year, and was of course in need of some fun senior photos!

With this session came a small dilemma though…

Dilemma: My G-mom and Aunt Kay (Allie’s mom) both prefer traditional backdrop/studio photos with everyone pleasantly smiling at the camera. Well… Allie isn’t a traditional teenager… She’s colorful, she has attitude, she’s quiet, she dyes her hair black, etc. She’s not a smile by the pretty fountain in the park type of girl. So, how do you balance what the senior would like (they are her photos after all) and what mom likes (let’s face it, we’ve gotta make momma happy!)?

Solution: Fun, funky photos in a unique location for Allie… combined with well lit, straight on, smiley face shots for G-mom and Aunt Kay. We think that we captured Allie’s personality perfectly AND took a few for mom to put on her desk/hang on the wall. PUUUUUURE GENIUS!!!!!! HA!

We haven’t shown you guys a Bobbi version and a Mike version of the same photo in a long time… so, here you go! Here’s my photo…

Brittany came along for the shoot… so we thought it would be fun to get a jumping shot with all of the girl cousins That’s Brittany on the left (she wasn’t feeling well…) me in the middle and Allie on the right.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Allie is such a neat young woman… and I love her so so so so so much!

She’s a senior at North Kansas City High School… which is also where I went to high school. Now, I know this is weird… But I LOOOOOOVED being a teenager. When we drove through North Kansas City, I all of a sudden was overwhelmed with this HUGE amount of school spirit, it was RIDICULOUS. I began singing our Alma Mater at the top of my lungs and couldn’t remember the second line… it was KILLING ME!!!!!! So, I called my best friend Corrie and asked her to sing it to me She knew EVERY word! I’m not surprised in the least!

After dinner, the WHOLE family went to Stroud’s for some fried chicked (yeah, last week was NOT a good week on the diet). Corrie came along. The hostess was an NKC alum, too (class of 07) So there we all were… singing our song.

WHEN CAN WE GO BACK TO KC?!

I was feelin’ wacky!

LOVE THIS ONE!!!! We went into this little spot when this guy yells… “DO NOT TOUCH THE PAINT!!!!!” I was FIVE seconds from showing her the pose she was going to do by leaning on the red… WHEW! That would have been a tragedy. Definitely a favorite!

Ruth is an artist… she brought along these colored pencils to incorporate into one of her photos. You know, like seniors are supposed to. Well, when I talked to her on the phone the day before and asked her what she was bringing… she mentioned the pencils. I got REALLY excited… I LOVED that she brought along the things that I would have at her age. Then came the task of making colored pencils and paint brushes in a photo not be cheesy. I spent the evening brainstorming decheesifying pose ideas… and this is what we came up with I happen to LOVE it

AUSTIN, Texas WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!! How much fun did we have, you ask? A LOT! Ruth is so cool. She was incredibly easy to photograph, can’t you tell?! She has it all… talent, style, beauty, personality, ambition, confidence…. see, told you she had it all!

I asked her how she found our website all the way in Indiana… she said she found us on the Trash the Dress site when we were the photographer of the week, and she’s been following us since. HOW NEAT IS THAT?! She said she “didn’t know wedding photography could be cool.” We certainly try to make it cool!

Her mom came along for the shoot. WE LOVE GWEN! As you guys know, Mikey and I have sort of a quirky photo style… and sometimes moms don’t really get that. HOWEVER, Gwen (her mom) was FULL of REALLY awesome ideas! She even ENCOURAGED our quirkiness! LOVE IT!

Ruth is currently transitioning from being a senior into going to art school… I cannot wait to see where the world of art takes her.

Thanks you two for making the trip down from Fort Worth… we had a blast!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. I've known Kevin since he was 12 years old… TWELVE!!!!! He's always been such a GOOOOOOFY guy. A month ago I asked him when and where he was going to get his senior pictures taken. He told me that he didn't want them. WHAT?! NO WAYYYY! We offered…. He said YES! "When can we take them Kevin? His response, "I'm going on vacation soon, so after that will be perfect because I'll be a bronzen God." We made it happen! I STILL can't believe he's a SENIOR! WOW!
