hm.

i got an email from someone who didn’t like my boudoir posts. it was very uhm… mean. after reading it… i felt like i should password protect all of the posts here. then after a couple of days of VERY nice emails from people who were questioning why they were passworded, i realized that this blog isn’t for her. it’s for me, it’s for you, it’s for us. and that’s exactly how i love it. so, i”m unpasswording them all. i apologize to all of you for seeming weak. but… i’m not.

:)

i adore our blog readers!

~ :!: +

PS. I know that “unpasswording” isn’t a word… but isn’t it fun?  Okay… maybe not “fun..” but, you get the idea :D

Hi Bobbi!
As a photographer myself, I recently did my ‘virgin’ voyage of a boudoir session!!! It was a great friend of mine and we had so much fun! I worried about posting pics on the blog,(especially after a senior session) but after following these comments, I realized that I was PROUD of the work I had done and just hope that it makes a statement that beautiful images shouldn’t be hidden…. Love you guys’ work.

MsBunn.comSeptember 15, 2008 - 9:29 am

Great post, Bobbi! I agree! Art comes in MANY forms, not just one[-minded]. You’re a photographer so why are you not “allowed” to post whatever you want on YOUR own blog when you have MANY admirers out there that easily overshadows those haters? Do your thang, girl [+Mike]! We love it and that’s why we come back for more! I just got done with a boudoir session last night and I’m sorting through the hundreds of shots for sneak peeks. Her identity will remain a mystery because it’s going to be a special gift for her husband’s birthday. But, she’s allowed me to post some abstract images for my blog because she knows this is my platform, photography. I love my clients! :) BTW, what do you use for your blog interface? I love the comment numbering system. NICE! Also, I noticed at the bottom of your page there is a question mark; is it supposed to be a copyright symbol instead?

SarahSeptember 3, 2008 - 2:46 am

Well the person who didnt like the posts is obviously jealous that they dont look like that… I love them… They are classy shots and not a thing wrong with them..

Oh and by the way love your work been looking through every post :)

SAMay 16, 2008 - 10:14 am

I just want post my support and to echo 1000% Marisa’s post @ 6425. She put it perfectly.

Your work is amazing. Period.

MissJayMay 2, 2008 - 12:19 pm

Hi! Came across your site through a different blog. I’m loving looking at the pictures! Especially since I’m on my way to a wedding myself next September.e But back to the reason I’m posting this reply.

PLEASE continue to IGNORE those hateful emails about this section of your blog. If that person did not want to see it then they should have clicked the nice little x at the top right corner of the window, or journey to the address box and go elsewhere. Continue to do what you do because if taking pics makes you feel good and the person in them feel great, by all means it’s a BEAUTIFUL THANG! (had to throw some of my slang in there ;) )

Angela CardasApril 19, 2008 - 12:36 am

She’s mean – you rock. Thanks for not caving to a vocal minority.

jayApril 15, 2008 - 8:31 pm

A blog is like a “TV” to the viewer….if ya don’t like what you see then be an adult and turn it off!! No more “passwords,” girl…your stuff is much too good not to share. We love ya!

Julie JamesApril 12, 2008 - 1:35 am

I totally agree with everyone here!! I love your work and would be so sad to see you password your images…you are such an inspiration to me…I can’t wait to meet you someday girl….YOU ROCK!!

Jen HughesApril 10, 2008 - 2:56 pm

You go girl. People need to loosen up!

Bev MillerApril 9, 2008 - 9:24 pm

Don’t ever doubt what you do, your art it classy, sexy and downright cute!!!

You rock Bobbi, I am always smiling when I check you out.

Mrs. FunApril 9, 2008 - 5:02 pm

this made me angry for you!! pfffffffft to that person. if she doesn’t like it and felt the need to send a mean email then she needs to go work out, have a good cry, dust herself off and take a long hard look in the mirror.
I love your boudoir work, it RAWKS!!!

MollyApril 9, 2008 - 3:33 pm

Another poster has said it previously, but your art is my workout motivation!

HarmonyApril 8, 2008 - 11:28 pm

Woman, you rock! I think your boudoir shots are super tasteful and….oh yeah, AWESOME!

Keep it up baby!

ClaryApril 8, 2008 - 5:59 pm

BOO!! I think it reads “bobbie+mike” at the top of your blog.
Take care girl:o)

CherronApril 8, 2008 - 2:03 pm

Yay you for realizing that it is about you, your clients, and your readers. All that girl had to do was hit the little red x at the top of her screen and the photos would have gone bye-bye. She had to forget her big girl panties and try to make it into a deal.

I adore the work you post and have checked back everyday since I saw you on Becker’s post about the WPPI. :)

Melissa E EarleApril 8, 2008 - 1:33 pm

YEAH!!!! BE STRONG BOBBI!!!! SO ROOTING FOR YOU!

marcieApril 8, 2008 - 11:46 am

Um…who’s being mean to you?? Seriously?? I will personally kick their ass. SERIOUSLY. WTF is wrong with people??? If you don’t like it, don’t open it, don’t click on the link. STAY AWAY. This is BOBBI + MIKE and we ADORE them and IMPLORE that YOU (meanie head!) go away. Far ….away. Off with your head.

To my lovely Bobbi,

I cannot wait to see D’s pics…you are going to rock the Bahama sunshine. ::HUGS::

marleneApril 8, 2008 - 9:04 am

As a fellow photoblogger, and wife of a cartoonist (who receives complaints almost daily), we say DOWN WITH HATERS!

Keep it movin if you don’t like what you see! This is an anti-haters zone! :)

I think your boudoir pics are classy and SUPER DUPER HOT! Glad you unpassworded it!

Mandy A.April 8, 2008 - 8:15 am

maryApril 8, 2008 - 5:36 am

bobbi- don’t let the meanies get you down!
they are everywhere- they think they’re entitled to everything- and they are soooo wrong.
stand firm and let them look somewhere else if they’re offended…who needs ‘em?

michelle johnsonApril 8, 2008 - 1:37 am

Good for you Bobbi!! This is your blog and she doesn’t have to read it if she’s offended by awesomeness! :) ) Hey, I live in Germany… T&A ads are posted anywhere and everywhere. Your work is tasteful and gorgeous… she’s nuts!

Michael BlanchardApril 7, 2008 - 11:54 pm

SCREW HER!!!!!!

Probably just jealous because she doesn’t look half as good as some of the ladies on your blog… Just a wild guess.

MaryApril 7, 2008 - 11:05 pm

Hi Bobbi!
I frequent your blog as well, but this is also the first time I’ve commented. Your work is beautiful and it is your life…so blog away! If your clients don’t see the full aspect of your work and what you offer…then you wouldn’t be where you are today! Love it all. Mary

MayaApril 7, 2008 - 9:37 pm

WHAT?!!!! Keep doing what you’re doing!!! They are classy and beautiful!!! You’re making women feel sexy and confident! Keep it up!

Heather ColeApril 7, 2008 - 9:21 pm

Angela HigginsApril 7, 2008 - 8:30 pm

Boo to the meanie who emailed you. I understand how you were torn about what to do but you are right – this is your blog. I love your boudoir shots – they are truly inspiring and you manage to capture not just the body, but the soul too.

JillApril 7, 2008 - 8:27 pm

Mean people suck!! How dare she!! Puuuhhhhlleeeeeeezzzzzzeeeeeeee. Your pictures are great. There is nothing dirty about them. I am inspired by your work and come to look everyday!! You are my hero! Lol.

CoreenApril 7, 2008 - 6:29 pm

I LOVE your work and find the boudoir shots inspiring – trying to get up the courage to do it myself! Hubbie would die!

olivia feyApril 7, 2008 - 5:42 pm

Blogs work the same as the radio. Don’t like what you are hearing, change the channel. Don’t like a blog post, don’t look.

micheleApril 7, 2008 - 5:07 pm

bobbi,
thank you so much for posting your boudoir shots. i am an amateur photographer (very amateur) and a good friend of mine wants me to do boudoir shots for her as a treat for her hubby.
your beautiful shots are definately inspirational.
please keep posting more awesome shots.

AndiKApril 7, 2008 - 4:48 pm

Oh, good grief. As you know, I’m pretty conservative when it comes to things like this, but I have no problem with your boudoir posts. Just like I have no problem with the Venus de Milo or Le baiser by Rodin. It’s art, baby.

Even more, they’re like love letters–artifacts of a loving relationship. And that’s not dirty. It’s real.

Sex happens, people! None of us would be here without it.

NatalieApril 7, 2008 - 4:19 pm

what a crazy bitch!!! Bobby you ask all of the girls if it is ok to post, so screw her!! I love ya!!

Melissa KoehlerApril 7, 2008 - 4:14 pm

I love you, enough said :)

LindseyApril 7, 2008 - 4:13 pm

YAY YAY YAY!!!
and to all of you who don’t like the boudior pics…DON”T LOOK!!!!!!!

Love you Bobbi!!!

HopeApril 7, 2008 - 4:08 pm

Good for you! Don’t hide your art under a rock just because someone is too prudish to appreciate it. It is beautiful and intimate — not pornographic at all. I love visiting your blog and am soooo glad you are back.

LaurenApril 7, 2008 - 3:55 pm

I second the motions made by all the bobbi-boudior-photo-supporters who commented before me!!!
I think what you encountered there was an email from a party pooper of the prudish-est kind!
Sorry for you, but oh so happy that you un-passworded everything!
Love your work! Love your vision!

BetsyApril 7, 2008 - 3:35 pm

I think some chick is out there slumping further and further under her keyboard. ; )

NicoleApril 7, 2008 - 3:27 pm

I was wondering what was up with the password! At first, I thought it applied to all of your entries and I almost had a heart attack!! Haha :]

Whew… glad everything is back to normal!!

TashaApril 7, 2008 - 3:07 pm

Everyone who has posted above is right on. This is your blog, your art, and an expression of who you are and your talent. No one can never make everyone happy all the time, so good thing that’s not your job! However, I hope you feel affirmed that your beautiful pictures make a hell of a lot of people happy!! Love to you guys!

BreApril 7, 2008 - 3:03 pm

tell her to bite you.
she’s just jealous.
love ya (and your photo’s!)

susan yeeApril 7, 2008 - 2:33 pm

HOW MUCH DO I LOVE YOU?! I miss you sooo much (+heather+aaron), we need to bring you all to so cal or something. And how have I missed your recent posts??? My RSS feed is being wonky. I LOVE IT ALL. Esp the boudoir, it’s HOT.

P.S. Saw you were at Jesh’s thing!! YOU NEED TO TELL ME HOW IT CHANGED YOUR LIFE. :D DD

ErikaApril 7, 2008 - 2:08 pm

BOOOO-YA! I hate negativity! You rock… I love this blog AND EVERY PICTURE posted. Keep it up woman! :)

Alyssa LangApril 7, 2008 - 2:07 pm

I think unpasswording should totally be added to the dictionary. lol

Glad the passwords are outta here :)

AndreaApril 7, 2008 - 1:58 pm

Another long-time reader, first time poster here. In general, I’m fairly conservative, but I’ve never seen anything here that I didn’t think was beautiful and very tastefully done. I adore your work!

BrookeApril 7, 2008 - 1:40 pm

Love ALL of the pics…so glad the “unpasswording” is back on!

mel and camdenApril 7, 2008 - 1:35 pm

Oh good, I was starting to feel like I was no longer a part of the cool club with those darn password protected entries!!

mel

Kelley Walker ChanceApril 7, 2008 - 12:54 pm

What a punk! Shake it off, lady – you’re fabulous :-)

David [C+D Photography]April 7, 2008 - 12:34 pm

Good for you Bobbi! I never thought you’d be the kind of person to go quietly! It’s just not like you to censor expression and feeling! That’s just not you! You’re open, and exhuberant, talkative, energetic, and free and I think I speak for everyone when I say that’s what we all LOVE about you. So don’t listen to them. Keep bein’ you!!!

-D

NatalyApril 7, 2008 - 12:34 pm

Way to go, Bobbi! The images you’ve posted are very tasteful. I think everyone will agree with me that all images you post are inspirational for us photographer, no matter if the are boudoir, weddings, seniors, etc. I’m sure other brides also want to see any and all of your work! Keep on rocking, Bobbi+Mike!

Amanda ForbushApril 7, 2008 - 12:26 pm

I agree with every single other comment before this. If you dont like what you see here, STOP LOOKING. The images you choose to post on here are just a tease and we’re all wondering what the rest of them look like.

You are an amazingly talented photographer, and shouldn’t let other people make you think you should have to password protect your images. You shouldn’t be ashamed to flaunt them!

: )

LuckyApril 7, 2008 - 12:19 pm

If they don’t like ‘em, they don’t have to look at ‘em :)

I like ‘em.

Bobbi+Mike ROCK (insert headbang here)!

JenniferApril 7, 2008 - 12:17 pm

No way! I’m from PA, and I’m dying to find a way to have you shoot me like this! And really…anyone who doesn’t like it, doesn’t know what art or beauty is. And if that’s the case, then they shouldn’t look!

No worries – keep up the great work!!!

JoannaApril 7, 2008 - 12:16 pm

Bobbi! I was wondering what the heck was going on. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel that way. Like you said, your blog, their choice to come check it out. Plus there is nothing wrong with the boudoir pics, they are gorgeous. They can stick it. :P

andieApril 7, 2008 - 12:11 pm

love you guys and your images…one day when i get to a better weight i’ll be calling you up! i’m thinking 1940’s noseart feel to mine though….

Jill SApril 7, 2008 - 12:10 pm

I could not agree with all these comments more!! Seriously!! If people can’t appreciate it and are offended – don’t look…I’m glad you are stickin’ to your guns and continuing to post the boudoir photos – they are so beautiful and tasteful!!
i love when your Momba comments – showing her support for her little girl :) so sweet!! Love it! You obviously have a LOT more supporters than haters so keep it up!!! Can’t wait to see more!!

Lisa AustinApril 7, 2008 - 11:28 am

You ROCK! And this comment made me laugh: “My prude eyes were NOT offended!!” hahahah
I second that!!!

LeandraApril 7, 2008 - 11:19 am

I have your blog bookmarked, but have never commented until today. I was wondering what was going on with the passwords, because I was excited to see your new boudoirs! I just wanted to let you know that I love your work, and I think yours are some of the most tasteful boudoirs I’ve seen. You really know how to balance being modest and tasteful and sensual and sexy at the same time.

lroahApril 7, 2008 - 11:16 am

I was going to write something, but then I read all the comments so far, and well, it has all been said. Bobbi, you rock and your talent is amazing…keep ‘em coming!!

Amanda WApril 7, 2008 - 11:10 am

If she doesn’t like it, she doesn’t have to look at it! The work you do is wonderful and you shouldn’t have to censor what you put on your own blog; especially when you only post appropriate photos in the first place! :) Love to you!

MarisaApril 7, 2008 - 11:05 am

Bobbi,
I think one of the great things about photographer’s blogs are that they allow us to experience a wedding, a senior portrait shoot, a day with a family or even a boudoir session. The thing is we are allowed to see the love between a couple, a kid showing their individuality, the joy in a parent’s heart over their new child and also a woman feeling truly sexy in her husbands shirt. Nothing on here is provacative or racy, it is beautiful and intimate. I am so sorry someone felt the need to be rude and mean to you, but I think maybe this person is simply seeing a sexy image, and is unfortunately missing the person behind it, which really is what I have always felt that you are Mike are really allowing us to see. It really never is the image I see but the person or people you capture in the moment, being loving, happy or even sexy. I love what you do Bobbi and please continue to allow us to see what beauty you see in the world, through the lens of your camera.

DeeApril 7, 2008 - 11:04 am

You rock! It is to bad that someone feels like they need to bring you down. The pictures are tasteful and beautiful and I am so glad you share them with us. Your work is amazing! The person is clearly jelious! PS I tried Tortino’s pizza and it was yummy!!

NicoleApril 7, 2008 - 11:04 am

Bobbi-
Good for you!! I’ve been a blog-stalker for several weeks now, and while I had to skip over your boudoir posts while at work =), I checked them out at home and they were BEAUTIFUL. I could understand password-protecting them if there was actual nudity, or “parts” showing =), but what you posted was nowhere close. If someone doesn’t like them, who needs them? Keep it up!

RhiannonApril 7, 2008 - 10:54 am

Hi!
Longtime blog fan- just never commented. I love everything you post and am frustrated that someone is trying to prevent you from sharing your art (with subject permission!). Do they hate-mail the Louvre for its nude figures?

SamoApril 7, 2008 - 10:41 am

Hm.
I really don’t understand you USA-people sometimes. Beauty has to be password protected, but all the violence in your movies and everyday news is free for everyone. ??!!
And you have that famous amendment and are talking a lot about freedom,… But looking from a distance I would say that there is really a lot of fear around.
Congrats Bobbi!

david & kimi baxterApril 7, 2008 - 10:39 am

why can’t we all just get along!!! you no likey, you no lookey!!! we heart you and your boudoirs!!! work.it.out !!!

lauren c.April 7, 2008 - 10:37 am

you GO girl!!! : )

StephApril 7, 2008 - 10:29 am

well poo on them! Yes, that was very mature of me, wasn’t it? :)

I say if Momba approves, you’re golden.

dragoApril 7, 2008 - 10:27 am

you go girl! i feel the same way. i hate when people voice their opinion on how terrible howard stern is, if you don’t like him, change the channel!!!!!!

SaraApril 7, 2008 - 10:03 am

If you’re stirring up controversy with your photography then you’re definitely doing it right.

Congrats! Your boudoir images are beautiful and you’re creating art that your clients requested, not your blog readers.

Chris StewartApril 7, 2008 - 9:59 am

bobbi so true the blog isnt for just one person its for you,us and everyone else that finds your amazing work.

kelly powersApril 7, 2008 - 9:54 am

oh girl! you’re such a people person that i know that you take everything to heart, but i’m glad you did what feels right for you. and i agree that your pics are fun and classy!

keep rockin’ it out bobbi (& mike) style!!!

Josh SolarApril 7, 2008 - 9:51 am

that’s right, if they don’t like it, they don’t have to look:)

MombaApril 7, 2008 - 9:47 am

YEAH….. What they said. And furthermore your Momba says it’s okay to post your boudoir sessions. You work is truly art.

Love you,

Momba

GiovannaApril 7, 2008 - 9:40 am

This is an art. You are an artist. Thank goodness she didn’t tell Michelangelo her thoughts.

ALWAYS be YOU!!!

Giovanna

ChrissyApril 7, 2008 - 9:34 am

If they don’t like your posts they should just go away. You are not forcing anyone to look! Some people are idiots.

JenApril 7, 2008 - 9:24 am

That is ridiculous! It’s art, not porn! GEZ!
Bobbi, please don’t ever password ANY of your work ever again! :(

To whomever wrote Bobbi, keep your negative comments to yourself! This website is extremely tasteful, classy, and she even posts disclaimers by those pictures for people like you.

Much love!
-Jen :)

Lisa RussoApril 7, 2008 - 9:24 am

I love your boudoir images, Bobbi!! Very tasteful, sexy and glamorous. Perfection!

kilaxApril 7, 2008 - 9:22 am

That’s strange. You’ve written so many posts explaining you have permission to post them… and there is not even full nudity. I agree with Lauren – don’t watch/read what you don’t like! This seems to be a huge problem on the internet, with people reading blogs and writing mean letters…

christinaApril 7, 2008 - 9:21 am

ya know, this goes for everything out there, if you don’t like it, don’t read it!! dont’ watch it!! don’t listen to it!! you can’t please everyone, and I agree with P.brynne, there are far FAR worse things out there!! its no different than someone wearing a bikini. people are wearing far far less on tv, in people magazine of all things, and its easliy seen by everyone!! just because you have more of an artistic eye than others gives no reason for others to be hate’n!! But, I probably would have reacted the same way you did.

mandyApril 7, 2008 - 9:19 am

Bobbi, i think what you post is very tasteful. Thanks for continuing to inspire. :) i love visiting your site! :)

LaurenApril 7, 2008 - 9:14 am

That’s interesting. This reminds me of the people who complain that there is too much sex and violence on TV. Um – so don’t watch those channels. It’s not hard. I’m glad you unpassworded the entries! You’re absolutely right that these are for you and your readers.

It would be a totally different story if you didn’t get consent from the girls. But of course you do – so what gives? Silly people.

KristenApril 7, 2008 - 9:13 am

Yo Bobbi!

I frequent your blog but have never commented until today. YOU ROCK. I am SO glad you unpassworded them. Don’t let anyone keep you down EVER. You guys are so good at what you do, it’s worth it to make one person unhappy if you are keeping yourself and your FANS happy in the process. Keep on keepin on woman!

BetsyApril 7, 2008 - 8:42 am

I wondered what was going on. I figured you knew something I didn’t. (What’s new!?)

That STINKS that someone made you question what you do and make you feel about it.

I’m so glad they are back. BTW, I’m glad I’m not the only one that would have freaked and pulled the images. It’s that people pleaser in all of us that flips when you get an email from someone that isn’t a people pleaser. ; )

Lots of LOVE to you!

rebecca-linh rodgersApril 7, 2008 - 8:17 am

you go bobbi! you go!!

it’s YOUR(+mike’s) blog!!! And I think they are ALL tastefully done! My prude eyes were NOT offended!! oh and- you totally rock the boudior. rock on girly!

:-P. BrynneApril 7, 2008 - 8:12 am

I’m glad you unprotected them!!! I don’t even know what someone would have to complain about that would be truly legit. You aren’t showing any nudity… heck… the ads you see on the sides/top of websites are FAR worse than what you’re showing here! Besides, your photos are classy and I’m sure they will remain that way! Good for you for putting them back up!!!
