CONFESSION: I’m (Bobbi) not a dog person… as in, I’m usually quite scared of them. I know… when I tell people this they think I’m crazy… and the first thing EVERY dog owner says is, “but you’ll LOVE my dog!” VERY rarely is that the case. Dogs just KNOW that I’m scared. But lately I’ve REALLY been trying to quit being such a baby around them. I was completely up front with Jacquie about it and she was so accommodating. So, we tried it! The dogs were on their BEST behavior and I, much to my surprise…. did great! :)

Isn’t this ADORABLE?!

And then it was time to put the dogs away…

Mikey’s favorite! :?: By the way, I’ve noticed some confusion lately… just because any photo is either my favorite or Mike’s favorite… doesn’t mean that that person took it. For example, I actually took this photo, but it’s Mikey’s fave. Make sense?

We shoot these laying in the grass shots at about 80% of our sessions… I guess it’s kind of a signature shot (not that we’re the ONLY ones who take it) Are you guys sick of seeing it yet? Everytime we take it, it always looks a bit different to me. Maybe that’s just me though. Oh well. WE LOVE IT!

We were getting ready to leave the area when I said, “hold on… we’re going to take a photo for your Christmas card” :)

Then Abe switched into his Class A’s and Jacquie switched into a cute skirt and downtown we went.

COLUMBUS, Ind. Jacquie, who I’ve worked with in the past, shot us an email telling us that her husband Abe, a National Guardsman, was being deployed to Iraq at the beginning of the year. :( Before he was to deploy they wanted some photos of them…. so off to Columbus we went!

Abe and I have very similar experiences in the military… mostly during our training. For example, we were both Student First Sergeant’s at Advanced Individual Training. What’s a Student First Sergeant? Basically, it’s a trainee soldier who’s in charge of the entire batallion of other trainees. Well, unless YOU were the Student First Sergeant… no one really cares. So that was fun for both of us to be reminded of how much of a big deal we were… but again, only to each other. HA!

We’re incredibly honored that you asked us to take these photos. Call us anytime you need anything.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but your b/w images lately are blowing me away. Seriously. You rock.

My favorite is the shallow DOF with his uniform in focus and her head (blurry) on his shoulder. And that’s saying something for a hippie liberal like me who tends to be extremely anti-establishment!

these are so great bobbi!

best of luck to the both of them while he’s there.

Mom likes to tell the story of when I was attacked by four small dogs when I was about 13. What she forgets is that was FAR from the first time… I’ve been bitten about 7 times. She just thinks it’s HILARIOUS that miniature dogs scared me away. Whatever Mom…. :)

:!: +

Oh, and Betsy… your dogs were the beginning of my “healing” HA!

BetsyNovember 30, 2007 - 7:39 pm

I’m SO SORRY we subjected you to our crazy pugs! You do a great job of hanging in there with us nutty dog people. Bless your heart!

The korgi and shepard looked like they were sweet doggies. Really beautiful shots.

MombaNovember 30, 2007 - 7:16 pm

Oh Bobbi,
Please tell the rest rest of the story. You know. The reason for your fear of puppy dogs. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist.
I have to say that there are two pictures that really caught my eye. First one being the B&W angled bench shot with Jacquie’s legs slung across Abe’s lap and the last photo is awesome.
Maybe we could do a Maggie Mae shoot in the backyard. You know she loves you.

Love Always,

Momba

What a great idea – to do the photos before he leaves. I hope he has a safe journey and comes home soon! :)

I love the “butt” photo! Cute butts! I never get sick of your grass photos, Bobbi. The grass provides such a contrast to the people – it always looks great!

JacquieNovember 30, 2007 - 6:44 pm

LOVE THEM!

LOVE YOU GUYS!
