We’ve photographed a LOT of weddings in bad weather… but I’m going to have to say that this day was the grossest of the gross. Thickest clouds in the history of mankind. NO sun, rain all day… gray, cold… just plain gross.  We were shooting in Gloomtown, USA. When I asked Kate about going outside… she was a bit reluctant…. I promised we’d keep her dry… she said she trusted me… and boy oh boy are we glad she did!  I LOVE these photos!:D  So, off to the first parking garage we could find:DThese bridesmaids were troopers… you can’t tell, even a little bit, that it was FREEEEEZING!

Kate and Chris got married in November in Evansville (different time zone where the sun sets at 4:30. Because they wanted daylight photos, they chose to see each other before the ceremony. Boy oh boy am I glad they did!  Kate, your eyes are the some of the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen. You’re so pretty:)

We brought our unboxed photobooth with us.  I don’t usually blog photos from it but this one’s a little different.  Here’s Kate with her grandma… she passed away less than two weeks after this photo was taken.  I can’t imagine. Kate and family… sending big hugs your way.

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
kate: definitely the ceremony.  It was the most personal and emotional experience of my life.
chris: My most memorable moment had to be when the music started for Kate to walk down the aisle. Once I heard it, I started to lose it. I couldn’t even keep it together until she got to the aisle.

What was your favorite detail?
kate: Just one??  I loved my dress, the photos on the altar, and the handmade birds that we used to decorate the ceremony and reception.
chris: The sweet photographers we ended up with.;)HIGH FIVES FRIEND!:D

Any advice for future bride/grooms?
kate: make sure you (and your husband-to-be) make the important decisions together. In the end, the day is all about the two of you
chris: For grooms, be quiet and do whatever is necessary to make your bride’s day perfect regardless of what it takes.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Mark (the officiant) forgetting our rings. I felt horrible for him but I think it made for a special moment when we exchanged rings with our wedding party watching after the ceremony. It also makes for a great story.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
kate: maybe would have done a rain dance that morning
chris: I can’t think of a single thing that I would change. It was perfect in my eyes.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to New York and stayed at the Library Hotel. It was amazing!

Saundra… this just might be the the most well composed bride+groom+bobbi+mike shot to date! By the way…While we were able to keep Kate and Chris sheltered from the rain… not so much the case for us.:)

(our home isn’t photogenic) bobbi – you definitely helped me keep it together before walking down the aisle. i was insanely emotional and it helped to know you felt that way on your wedding day too. the picture with Nana – words can’t express how grateful I am. she thought you guys were soo sweet! I love every picture – can’t wait to see the rest. THANK YOU!

First off: incredible photos as always! Love the parking garage action(always amazing light in them). And love the theater action, as well!
Secondly: I just went back to look at Niki’s wedding to remind myself of which bride she was, and holy canoli! You and Mike both look so different(in a good way). I’m so proud of you and the weight you’ve lost. You motivate me! Air high five!!

KelliDecember 13, 2010 - 4:19 pm

kristen davisDecember 13, 2010 - 4:12 pm

Beautiful! You took that rainy day and created beautiful pictures. Not that I doubted you could. Also I love the texture (I think that is what you call it) of what appears to be the first dance.

Kate, your dress is absolutely beautiful. I also love the invaluable picture with your grandmother, I have tears in my eyes.

Great job b+m

KatieDecember 13, 2010 - 3:44 pm

LOVE THESE! Oh, the bride is SO beautiful, and her hair is amazing. Those two black and white pics of the bride and groom dancing/laughing. Absolute perfection! xoxo.
PS: I have the little gold bolero from anthro too – love it! I wore it this past Saturday and when I put it on I said “If I got married in the winter, I would totally where this over my wedding dress.” Ha!
