kim+steven

Before I show you these images, you should know that Steven and his groomsmen were some of my best friends from high school. So, the day (for us) was a QUITE a bit different than most. This was the first time that not only was I the photographer… but also a guest. I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!!! I’ve never photo’d a wedding of a high school friend. Nor have I seen any of these guys in the past eight years. Many of you know that I’m actually from Kansas City, Mo. so seeing high school friends NEVER happens… LET ALONE seeing them all together at once! I knew that some of my great friends would be IN the wedding but little did I know that it was going to be a HS reunion! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! From one of my high school best friends to my senior year prom date… they were ALL there. Not only were many of my friends in attendance… but also many of their parents, too. I’m still so jazzed about the whole experience. I hope now that all of you NKCHS peeps know that we shoot weddings…. that you’ll ALLLLL think of us when it comes to your wedding. It was SO much fun!

Steven, his groomsmen and dad went miniature golfing :D

They insisted that Mike golf, too. :)

That OVER THE TOP dramatic shooting that I do. By the way… I had NO idea that I did this until Mikey took my photo TWICE at back-to-back weddings doing it. I’m such a dork.

I LOVE YOU KIM!!!!!

If you can’t tell… she’s playing with a toy guitar that the DJ had. I can bet a zillion dollars that the DJ has used that goofy thing at every wedding and never has he had a bride get on the floor with it… HA! Kim, have I mention that I LOVE you?! We were destined to be friends… :D By the way… to the DJ… if you read the blog… IF you have had a bride do that… I was kidding about the zillion dollars ;)

CHICAGO, Ill. KIMMMMMMMMMM AND STEEEEEVENNNNNN!!!! Finally! I know there are SO many of you blog readers out there who’ve been DYING to see these. Okay… maybe that was a bit dramatic…

KIM KIM KIM KIM!!!! OH OH OH HOW I ADORE YOU!!!! For those of you who read the blog comments, you’ll recognize her as “KILAX.” She’s the most faithful blog commenter ever. She was even blog commenting the day before her wedding. Yeah… she’s hard core. Since the day that Steven asked us to shoot his wedding… Kim and I have grown to be FAST email friends :) So, when I OFFICIALLY met her on the morning of her wedding… it was as though we’d known each other for years. Kim is unlike anyone I’ve EVER known. She’s comfortable being herself… and that I LOVE! She’s low maintenance, genuine, super fun, GREAT sense of humor and amazingly sweet :) I wish that she weren’t 4 hours away :( I guess for now our friendship will have to remain as email BFF’s. Oh well… better than nothing… because I just love having you in my life.

STEVEN!!!! Hooooly cowwwwwabunga he looked amazing! I hardly recognized him when I saw him… he’s lost… uhm, I’m guessing 80 lbs… and is super stylish. Sign me up for that! I’ve known Steven since 7th grade… he’s always been so thoughtful, very driven, patient and INCREDIBLY intelligent. Our junior or senior year he bought this MAJOR lawn equipment so he could make money by landscaping. Seriously… who thinks of doing that in HIGH SCHOOL?! Now, he’s very successful in Chicago. I’m not surprised in the LEAST :) I’m SO glad that you’re still on my buddy list Steven… otherwise, we never would have reconnected.

Kim and Steven were made for one another. They compliment each other perfectly. He’s peanut butter and she’s jelly :D HA! Alright, maybe that was only funny to me. :D

And to Eric , Mat, Emily, Adam, Josh, Dan annnnnnnd EDDIE let’s try to see each other more often than once every 8 years. :)

:D LOVE :D TO :D YOU :D ALLLLLLL!!!!!! :D

~bobbi+mike :!: + :?:

When we took this, we were the only people left…. so, no Mikey in the photo :( I PROMISE you we’re trying to get better about that.

Okay, so each time I see your pictures, I’m blown away!!! I am so excited to see you back in KC! Oh, and congratulations to Steven!!! I can still remember way back when, the party at Skaff’s house, Adam being Adam (longer hair I see, but still looks like himself) and me being my timid and shy little sophomore-self. HA HA!!! It’s cool to see how everyone has changed and we’re all grown up!!! Crazy!!! The pictures are absolutely gorgeous. I don’t know how you capture life so eloquently but I love that you do!

Dustin StellerSeptember 18, 2007 - 10:52 am

I’m Kim’s Fairy Blogmother, and am so grateful to you, Bobbi, for allowing me to “be” at her wedding! You captured it all so beautifully.

Lisa PrattSeptember 17, 2007 - 11:44 pm

Wow! That was quite the trip down memory lane. You take such wonderful pictures! I know I always say this, but I wish James and I could get remarried so we could have you as our photographer. Steven and Kim look so happy and you really captured that happiness in these photos.
P.S. Eric Harper still reminds me of Harrison Ford.

You guys are SO amazing! You can tell how much fun you both,(and the whooooole rockin’ wedding party) had on this amazing day.

Brooke BrandSeptember 17, 2007 - 5:42 pm

Always love all of your work, Bobbi & Mike! We check in all the time! You rock!

kilaxSeptember 17, 2007 - 1:29 pm

Ha ha. Ooops.

Anyway…

BOBBI!!! I am so excited about the photos, I feel like I could say something different that I love about each one… but that would take up a lot of space… so you will probably get an email from me later ;) ha ha

I am so happy that you were there, not only as our amazing photographer who PERFECTLY captured the moments and feelings of our special day … but as a friend as well. You are too much fun! I could see us getting into a lot of trouble together… too bad we live so far away!

The wedding was so much fun and I know that I will always remember it when I see these photos. Thanks so much :) :) :)

BIG HUGS :)

Kim, you are a beautiful bride!!!!!!!

JennySeptember 17, 2007 - 10:45 am

Aaaah, Bobbi! How fun it must have been to shoot a wedding like that! I would love to do the same! It sounds so sentimental and fun! The photos are, as usual, absolutely amazing!

ChristinaSeptember 17, 2007 - 9:58 am

Amazing!! Each picture is absolutely perfect!!

MollySeptember 17, 2007 - 1:50 am

Wow. So many familiar faces! They really do look SOOO different…except for Matt, he still looks the same. Then again, I saw him last winter at a Chanukkah party, so maybe that’s why I think he hasn’t changed a bit. :)

Courtney IlaxSeptember 17, 2007 - 1:13 am

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! That is really all I can say. Your the best Bobbie and Mike. The pic. of Steven and Kim dancing and how Steven and Kim are looking right into each others eye.
