AUSTIN, Tx. I promised that I’d show you more of his show that I talked about in a previous entry… and here they are.
Someone asked me after the last blog entry if LUCASCOOKUS was his real name…I’m going to copy and paste the explanation from his website, “Lots of people ask this Austin Musician, “is that your real name? Is COOKUS your last name?” Heres the scoop… long ago, before moving to Austin,TX, Lucas started playing guitar and singing live. At a sold out show in the Kansas City River Market, he stood up staring at the KC skyline. Guitar in hand he licked his lips, touched them to the mic ready to introduce himself as Lucas Cook but all that came out was, “Good evening, thanks for coming out, my name is LUCAS COOKUS… I mean……….” and the rest is history baby!”
For those of you who have been following the blog since before it was here… you may remember him from the old blog. Here’s one to remind you.(shot that pre-Canon).
This was actually the first time I’d ever seen him perform live. Watching him with his band on stage is such an experience. He’s so incredibly talented! I’ve tried writing about the experience here over and over and over… and nothing I’m writing really can give you an idea of how awesome they are on stage. It’s like a new energy in him that I’ve never seen. AHHHH!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Lucas is such an amazing person… I’m so proud to call him my friend. What I love about Lucas the most is how comfortable in his own skin he is. He’s loud, silly, laughs loudly and will talk to ANYONE about ANY thing (sound like anyone else you guys know?). I really miss him!
