006_IndianapolisPhotographer_tkw15On the way to the church.:)
008_IndianapolisPhotographer_tkw15This was the first time I’ve seen St. John’s since the repair after the arson in 2013 and let me tell you… it did not disappoint!   Such a beautiful church!                                                                           009_IndianapolisPhotographer_tkw15One of the best moments of the day. Zero words were spoken, yet so much was still said… Mike’s favorite.:?:010_IndianapolisPhotographer_tkw15Have I mentioned that I love veils?! 014_IndianapolisPhotographer_tkw15Remember that whole thing about it being so cold that it slapped you in the face the second you walked outside? Soooo… I told the wedding party that I would set a timer for 3 minutes, shoot the entire party, bridesmaids, the groomsmen… and promised not to go over. Enter Drill Sergeant Bobbi… though with a smile…!!! We walked back inside and I looked at my phone and I still had 12 seconds to spare. BOOOOOM!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Trish:  My favorite memory, by far, was our first look.  We had talked about it before the wedding day and our prediction of how we would each react.  He was so convinced that he wouldn’t be nervous or emotional for our first look and I was scared that I would not be able to keep it together.  We literally could not have been more wrong.  I was (oddly) very calm and Karl was the complete opposite.  He was 110% FREAKING OUT.  When I walked up behind him he was actually shaking because he was so nervous, and I think he fought off some tears (which he will deny forever, but we have pictures Karl!)… Tears or no tears, it was definitely my most favorite moment of the entire day.

Karl: My most memorable moment was also our first look, but I refute all of the above allegations… Alright, maybe it was a little nerve-racking, but how else was I supposed to react when I was waiting to see the most beautiful future wife EVER!!!

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Have so much fun… we loved being engaged!!  Wedding planning was stressful (duh)… but the most stressful times turned into some of our favorite memories because it was a reminder that we make a good team (translation: groom talks bridezilla down from the ledge) J  You’ll make a billion decisions together about the wedding, and some are more important than others, but in the end they all add up to an unforgettable day that is uniquely yours.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Mommom (Trish’s grandma) doing The Wobble with all of her grandchildren!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Not a single thing!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We cruised the Caribbean!  Belize was by far our favorite place and we can’t wait to go back!

HEEERE it is… our FIRST wedding of 2015! 01_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15….and let me tell you… it did not disappoint! 02_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15I love when men wear real bow ties. 03_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15On the left meet Maria, Amy’s twin… on the right, their momma… mother of five… four of which were two sets of fraternal twins! WHAAAAT?!
04_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15Hi Ren-Jay.:)05_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15Here’s Kim, Amy’s mom.:)As she was putting on these shoes she said something along the lines of, “I’ve buckled shoes for four little girls over the years… and here I am doing it again…” She, of course, said it much more eloquently than that, but you get the idea. It was very sweet.:)06_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15The groomsmen.:)217_AmyRenJay_Wed_15The bridesmaids.:D16_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15Ted (Amy’s Dad) taking a quick selfie right before he walked Amy down the aisle.:)Mike’s favorite:?:07_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar1511_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15MARRIED!12_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wed_ar15I was obsessed with her bouquet! What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Tough one – couldn’t pick just one, but some of them include: first look, exchanging vows, seeing Amy walk down the aisle (or actually walking down the aisle for Amy), seeing all of our family and friends at the reception

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Take the time to enjoy every moment, it flies by!  Don’t stress about the little things – it’ll all work out, and at the end of the day, you’re still celebrating your marriage with your family and friends!

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

One of our groomsmen, Brian, getting a bloody nose right before he walked down the aisle during the ceremony, and us not finding out until afterwards.  Good thing he had a tuxedo jacket on!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Nope!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Sedona, AZ – it was amazing!!

BEST family portrait I’ve EVER seen. What a special blog post! These pictures perfectly capture this extraordinary wedding. I think Amy is the happiest bride on the planet! She looks especially gorgeous and she and Ren-Jay make a beautiful couple. I’ve know the Dickmans for over 20 years and nearly cried looking at these pics–every picture is perfect. The ones at their new home remind me of the movie Father of the Bride. Thank you for sharing!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Emilie:  Matt and I both said seeing each other for the first time when I was walking down the aisle. Another moment that really sticks out to me is when Matt had the bouquet of flowers delivered to my room. It was such a sweet surprise and made me feel so special.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Relax and really enjoy the day. Everyone always tells you this, and it’s really hard to do. But looking back on the day it really does go by so fast. And enjoy having all the people you love all in one place at the same time. It really is an amazing feeling

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Emilie:  Matt and I both said when we were taking pictures in front of the state house and Dustin split his pants!!

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Emilie & Matt:  Nope!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

New York City

Olé! Olé! Olé! Seriously though… what am I doing?! 28_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wedding_em14_2014I mentioned this on Instagram and I’ll mention it again here… It’s unfortunate for the bride/grooms that photographers aren’t allowed anywhere other than this exact spot. I’m guessing a few bad apple photographers ruined it for everyone.  To those planning their weddings, be sure to ask what kinds of rules churches have for wedding vendors. I remember, years ago, there was a Lutheran church that we (the photographers) weren’t even allowed to enter during the ceremony.  I’ve noticed that many couples are blind-sided by these restrictions the day before or on the day of their wedding.  In the past, we’ve had couples ask us to break the church rules… unfortunately, if we want to remain photographers in this city, that’s not an option.:)As a matter of fact, I know of many photographers who are on the banned list for this church. So to photographers, be respectful and follow the rules. To couples, be sure to ask what the rules are before finalizing your church. And to church-appointed wedding coordinators, please know that we have a job to do and while there are a few bad apples, many of us are not.  We understand the need for some rules to keep the occasional new/clueless/classless photographer from becoming a distraction.  But, many times the rules are restrictive to the point that it adversely affects the photographs, and thus the couples’ memory of the wedding – and their perception of your church.  Please be flexible and consider both the level of professionalism of the photographers and the wishes of the couple getting married.  OK, off my soapbox!  :)29_bbmk_Indianapolis_Wedding_em14_2014A fence around the circle?! Psh. MAKE IT WORK BOBBI!;)

Lovely pictures! I’ve shot at this church before and what’s worse than the one spot you can stand on the balcony keeping you from getting any alternate angles is that they do not tell couples of the rules before booking and the coordinator gives this long speech on how she will ban you for life if you make a squeak. I get it, there are some very unprofessional photographers out there but it could be handled differently. Y couple was completely shocked when they found out they wouldn’t be getting all the church pictures they were expecting. Thank you for the PSA:)ReplyCancel

Indianapolis, Ind.

Together  ::  7.26.09  •  Engaged  ::  5.3.14  •  Wedding  ::  7.18.15  ::  Indianapolis, Ind.

Meredith ::  Project Coordinator  •  Hometown  ::  Carmel, Ind  •   five words  ::  beautiful, caring, ambitious, selfless, fun

Kyle  ::  Operations  •  Hometown  ::  Indianapolis, Ind.  •   five words  ::  loving, handsome, understanding, willing, respectful

How they met  ::  Meredith’s good friend from high school named Kevin, was home in Indy for the fourth of July (he lived in Bloomington for the summer) He invited Meredith to come swim at his pool with a friend. Kevin went to college and was fraternity brothers with Kyle so when she got there, Kyle and a few other college friends were over as well. The hit it off instantly and started “officially” dating a couple weeks later and have been together ever since. Kyle actually proposed at the very spot they met, 5 years later:)
