bobbi+mike » a husband+wife photo team

Hi friends!:DRemember this duo? We photographed their wedding over six years ago. WHAAAAAAT?! It seriously does NOT feel like that long ago… am I crazy here or what?! They decided they needed an updated portrait session… a “just because.” Mike’s favorites:?:
01_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14Their entire session was shot within walking distance of their house.
02_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14I have a bit of an obsession with straight lines and symmetry… but when a barn is literally leaning… I have to just lettttt itttttt gooooo….;)
05_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14My view on the left. Mike’s on the right.:)04_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14I’m obsessed with this image.03_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14The light that evening was magical.06_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14These two are my favorites:!:Many of you already know this but for those who don’t… I was named after Bob Dylan (thanks dad:))… so when I met Aaron in 2007 I immediately knew that we would forever be friends.  Side note: if you ever ask us to photograph your session at your house… there’s a prettttttty good chance I’ll take a photo of you on your front porch.:)My view on the left.
07_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14Mike’s view. He was literally sitting on top of the jeep to get this… 08_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14Luna and Chewy.09_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14Photographing pups isn’t as easy as it looks. By the way, Laughs like Carly’s are what fill my world with rainbows and sunshine. If you know her, when you look at this photo you can hear it… am I right?! Those are my favorite kind of people.:)10_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA1411_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14My view on the left… Mike’s on the right… 12_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA1413_familyphotographyindianapolis_CA14

Carmel, Ind.

Together  ::  11.5.04  •  Wedding  ::  6.1.08

How they met, as told by Carly   ::  We met in an intro to philosophy class. The very first day, Aaron sat in front of me and I swear I just knew. With the class nearing the end, I seized my moment and wrote an email to Aaron asking for help and “direction” with our final paper. We met up at the library and talked for literally 8 hours and were inseparable from that moment on. It was later revealed that Aaron had never written a paper that was more advanced than, “What I Want for Christmas”.:)

Carly ::  Account Manager / Photographer / Interior Designer  •  Hometown  ::  Cincinnati, Ohio  •   five words  ::  Vocal, super-inventive, driven, passionate and incredible

Aaron  ::  High School Art Teacher / Painter  •  Hometown  ::  Lonesome Town (you’re soooo deep Aaron…)  •   five words  ::  HILARIOUS, caring, loyal, crazy talented and mine:)

Your perfect Saturday ::  Whether it’s antiquing, photography, working on our latest house project, playing music or painting the next masterpiece: we’re all about being creative.  We would then take our pups, Chewy & Luna on a walk around our neighborhood, hit up our favorite sushi place, and binge on some Netflix in front of the fireplace.

 Much love friends!

How they met, as told by Tessa  :: We met in high school. Brad was a year older than I was and our friends ran around together. We started dating when I was a sophomore and Brad was a junior. It was such the cliche high school couple, Brad a star football player and myself a cheerleader. But it worked!

Tessa ::  hometown – Osgood, Ohio.  ::  Photographer  ::  five words – beautiful, loving, caring, determined, intelligent

Brad  ::  hometown – Chickasaw, Ohio  ::  Production Manager  ::  five words – family-man, hard worker, dependable, loving & the biggest pick you will ever know (ANYONE is fair game!)

Reagan  ::  10 years old  ::  five words –  caring, social-butterfly, soft hearted, creative, & just sweet

Grant  ::  7 years old  ::  five words – sarcastic, momma’s boy, loves outdoors, athletic & funny

Your perfect Saturday  ::   Mommy not working, which doesn’t happen often.  We would spend the day together exploring.  We love to go to parks and seeing what we can find.  We all love Mexican food, so we would probably grab a bite to eat.  And then end the night visiting family.

When Blair and Dan asked us if we could photograph their engagement session (and wedding) in NYC, we were hyyyype! bobbi+mikeAlmost all of the images were shot right by where they live…
02_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14My favorite:!:03_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14Oh! Did I mention they met at the University of Wisconson-Madison.:)They are KIIIIND of huge Badgers fans…:D04_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14This is literally right across the street from their condo. 05_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14You two are some seriously hot tamales. 06_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14….an outfit change…
08_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14Oh don’t you worry… they’re stillll representing Wisconsin!  09_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14That guy behind them be loooovin’ life! One of the many things I love about photographing in NYC is that NO ONE cares about what you’re doing… they’re all so busy in their own worlds. On the other hand, in the midwest, people will stop and stare as though we’re the traveling entertainment. Though, in the Midwest’s defense… I AMMMM quite hilarious!;)07_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14Mike’s favorite:?:11_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14Philip Marie… this is where Dan proposed.:)Dan took secret guitar lessons for 4 months from Norah Jones’ guitarist and wrote a song for me with “inside joke” lyrics to the tune of “Stand By Me.”  It blew me away.” -Blair
092_BlairDan_Eng14Blair is a cross-fit junkie… I mean… LOOOOOK at those legs! 12_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14Thanks for having fun with us you two!

New York City

Together  ::  12.19.05  •  Engaged  ::  1.24.14  •  Wedding  ::  5.16.15  ::  NYC

Blair ::  Ad Sales Marketing  •  Hometown  ::  Tenafly, N.J.  •   five words  ::  Upbeat, Caring, Fun, Creative, and Beautiful.

Dan  ::  Day Trader  •  Hometown  :: Chatsworth, Calif.  •   five words  ::  Generous, Passionate, Energetic, Positive, and Loving.

How they met  ::  They lived in the same dorm freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin. Dan lived 3 floors below Blair. Dan’s friend Matt Takash (who lived on Blair’s floor) was having a tailgate pre-party for a Badger football game, so both Dan and Blair attended. Blair noticed Dan’s long hippie hair and gregarious personality and Dan noticed Blair’s fun and smiley way about her. They immediately became good friends over boxed wine, cheap beer and laughs, but the “more-than-friends” came a year later:)

Mike, winning at life… standard…15_bobbimike_bde_newyorkcity_14

See you two in seven months…:D

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

t’s got to be the rain…  Of course the only time it rained (ALL DAY!) was during the ceremony!!  We also remember taking a moment to look around at the reception and saw everyone that we love smiling… so awesome!!!!

 Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.  The day goes by in such a flash… enjoy the amazing friends and family that are there sharing this special moment with you!

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

The dancing… Our family and friends sure do have the moves!
If you could do it all over, would you change anything? Not a thing.  Best. Day. Ever.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

No where yet but we’re headed somewhere warm & sunny (with a minimal chance for rain!)

Sound and light labs had a blast at this wedding! There was so much love in the air it was contagious. Highlights had to be the bride singing Journey and the groom and best man’s shoes, they were rocking Vans! :-) ReplyCancel

Oh Bobbi (& Mike) — these are wonderful. It’s the sign of true professionals that you are not only prepared for any weather situation, but still manage to take incredible photos! These are so bright and lovely, in spite of the gloomy weather. Wonderful, wonderful work!!ReplyCancel

Excellent work pulling these beautiful photos out of the messy, rainy day!! You two are absolutely incredible! As per usual, I love every single shot, but my favorite is the tricep shot-I LOVE the way the greenery perfectly surrounds/frames that garage door and I LOVE the way you utilized it! SUCH amazing work friends! Keep rocking :) ReplyCancel
