marjie+geoff

Krissy V did some of the most beautiful makeup I’ve seen.  But yes yes yes, she had a GORGEOUS palette to work with.

ARE YOU KIDDDDDDDING ME WITH THIS PHOTO??!!?!? MARJIE… YOU ARE ST ST ST STUNNNNNNINNNNNNNG!!!!!!!!

I seriously could have photographed bridals of her all day. AYKM?! gorgeous. GORGEOUS!

Another new favorite color palette… gray and yellow :)

Oh hello there handsome men :) …wa wa wa waitttttt… am I seeing doubles???

ME LOVE THE SYMMETREEEEEE!!!

YES YES YES… I AM SEEING DOUBLES!!!! AHHHHH I LOOOOOVE IDENTICAL TWINNNNNNS!!!!! Meet Geoff’s twin brother Brian :) Oh, and get this :) Marjie’s a fraternal twin. How flipping cool is that?! Twins… marrying… TWINS! One more thing… Brian married a Marcie. So… just to keep things easy on the brothers… they have wives whose names rhyme. ;)

This was the second time I’ve seen this… and I think it’s genius :) The bride & groom were the Eucharistic ministers…. (along with the priest, of course). BTW… that’s Brian, not Geoff ;)

I could NOT resist the “EVERYDAY TAMALES” !!!

Wow to this sexiness. I mean, WOW. WOWOWOWOW!

I’m not one for the cliche jumping shot… but I’m a fan of this :)

Taken with the 45mm 2.8 TS lens. Mike…. nice work :)

SO much colorful amazingness in Whiting Indiana!

ONE OF MY FAAAAAAVORE BB+MK PHOTOS OF ALLLLL TIIIIIIME!!!! Top five material here. Yeah, that’s serious. My favorite :!: and his too :?:

Yes, that’s a real bird :) This little guy along with another bird sat on the seat assignment table and flew around their cage. Marjie was going for a garden chic theme… and I think she nailed it. :)

Geoff’s twin brother busted out his planner from high school (where Marjie and Geoff both attended… but didn’t start dating until their 10 year HS reunion) during the best man speech… where it had only ONE name and phone number written in the contacts… Marjie’s. HILARIOUS! No one remembered that ever happening… to include Brian and Marjie!  I guess when Mom was going through old stuff recently, she found that planner and was flipping through where she found Marjie’s name. IT WAS HILARIOUS! His brother said (and I’m completely paraphrasing here), “Now, you may have gotten the girl… but it seems that I was first!” I’m doing this story ZERO justice… but I assure you… it was very funny :D

HAHAHAHAAAA!!! See me there on the right? I didn’t notice I was there until I picked it out for a blog photo. It seems that the guy behind me wasn’t a fan of me cutting through the dance floor. The look on his face is priceless. BUSTED!!!! HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!

love. love. love.

marjie+geoff:

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Marjie: walking down the aisle with my mom and seeing geoff for the first time that day.  :)
Geoff: having all the important people in our lives, together at once!

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Sending Michelle, the Maid of Honor, back up the stairs “for the 3rd time!!” while getting ready, the horrible jokes made by the driver on the way to church,  shoving a Special K bar down the bride’s throat, trying not to step in bird poop while jumping for pics, the band playing “Poker Face,” watching everyone on the dance floor!!!!!!!!!   :)

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
We wish we could have sit and talked with every single guest for 30 minutes each!!  The day just flew by!!

What was your weirdest wedding purchase?
2 canary’s and bags of Funyuns

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Maui, Hawaii!!   So wonderful!!!   …watch for us in the movie, “Just Go With It,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler… they filmed at our resort the entire time… we may be in the background… hahaha!  :)

bobbi+mike:

What was our favorite part of the day?
bobbi
:
1) I loved taking bridals of Marjie in her room she had while growing up. 2) The moment with her mom right before she walked Marjie walked down the aisle.  3) knowing the second I grabbed that seagull shot that I nailed it ;) 4) talking with Geoff on the long trolley ride.  5) when Brian busted out that planner during his best man speech. :D
mike
:
Guys are so predictable.  In a great example of solid wedding day logistics, the emergency kits were clear tubs and were packed in a “unisex” fashion.  “Tampax” was easily the most visible item included.  As we’re walking from the hotel room to the bus, the guy carrying it notices I’m being obvious trying to get a photo with men in tuxes carrying a bright blue Tampax box.  The tub gets passed.  The next guy notices…tub is passed again, and again…turned and switched between hands.  All silently, but everyone knows what’s going down.  They’re not going to be the one photographed with a big box of Tampax!  So…I did have to settle for a trailing, faceless shot of an arm, a tux and some tampons.  Groomsmen 1, Mike 0.

MUCH LOVE FRIENDS!

~bobbi+mike :!: + :?:

Whenever I see photos of myself like this I can’t help but think of The Jerk. You know, “and that’s all I need…” I’ve got my 5D and my other 5D and that’s all I need! :D Oh, and if you haven’t seen this movie…. RENT IT TOMORROW!!!!! It’s in second place for my favorite movie of all time. :) Can you guess which one is my number 1?

GET DOWN ON IT!!!!! :D PS. I TOTALLY need a new dancing face. I look ridiculous. Luckily for me… I’m a MUCH better photographer than I am a dancer!

AWWWZZ YEAHZZ! I love everything you put into your wedding blog posts – you guys are rad, and your photos are looking something like a phenomenon.

“I AM SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!” hahahahaaaaaaa

mollyMay 28, 2010 - 4:42 pm

these are so gorgeous! your comment about the picture of the guy glaring at you on the dance floor made me laugh out loud. and love the jerk. every year we make a big deal out of the new phonebook arriving.

RoxieMay 27, 2010 - 5:26 pm

These are seriously amazing. You are so inspiring!

hongMay 25, 2010 - 10:27 pm

The picture the couple jumping is really very fun and interesting. Yes, this is an exciting moment and they should jump for joy.

oneshotbeyondMay 24, 2010 - 3:00 pm

really well documented!

SandyMay 24, 2010 - 7:30 am

These are gorgeous! I know Marjie+Geoff have to be thrilled with these!

StephanieMay 24, 2010 - 1:56 am

Okay so the photos are flippin’ awesome. duh. But I thought I should start with that. :) I also wanted to second you comment about brides and grooms being Eucharistic ministers…from the b&g’s perspective, it’s an awesome decision to make — guests love it, it makes the ceremony just that much more personal, allows you to serve your guests (which is unique for a wedding day!), and give you a face-to-face moment with each person that receives the Eucharist. If a bride and groom is even slightly considering it — do it. So awesome. :) That’s all.

bobbiMay 21, 2010 - 1:37 pm

There wasn’t too much of a time crunch with this group…. that’s the wedding after this ;)

Lindsey JoyMay 21, 2010 - 11:25 am

WOW!! I think this might be my favorite bbmk wedding of all time! Even given the time crunch, you guys knocked it out!! AHHH-MAZING, seriously!

BTW, Marjie… you’re BEAUTIFUL!! :)

CourtneyMay 21, 2010 - 9:49 am

What a gorgeous bride – they totally rocked that garden chic theme – the colors were fantastic and even as a designer I’m not sure I would have paired them but they rocked it! Love the groomsmen photos – they look like total badasses! Also, Mike’s image with the 45mm 2.8 TS lens – schWOW! Geoff looks intoxicated by Marjie – HOT! Amazing job as always Bobbi & Mike!

brett ZMay 21, 2010 - 9:24 am

fabuloso work guys! love the TS work on that shot mikey ;-) beautiful bird shot = large canvass on wall booyah!

ChristenMay 21, 2010 - 7:54 am

Gorgeous!!! I second whats already been said, these photos seem to be at a whole different level of bobbi + mike amazingness. simply beautiful. Love the 1st and 2nd individual shots of the bride, the “colorful amazingness in whiting Indiana” picture (you make Indiana look good!!) and there is something very dreamlike about the bride and groom entering the reception that you took from behind them… it really draws me into the ‘emotion’ of it. Wow, STUNNING work.

fotogenicoMay 21, 2010 - 5:06 am

your work is stunning. i love composition and colors of this set.

TiffanyMay 20, 2010 - 11:20 pm

KatieMay 20, 2010 - 4:02 pm

BEAUTIFUL! I love them all, but that last b+w is so dreamy and romantic!!! SWOON! xoxo.

Stephanie StewartMay 20, 2010 - 1:52 pm

Wow! Speechless! You guys continually amaze me! Love that TS shot, the seagull shot, the one with the rusty cans behind them, and all the rest! And really love the yellow and gray! Love this wedding…I knew I would after their amazing engagement photos!

kaseyMay 20, 2010 - 12:10 pm

LOVE it all! You guys just blow me away. It’s kind of ridiculous how talented you both are!
And Bobbi, I think that is just standard dance face for everyone! I know that’s what I look like!!

bobbiMay 20, 2010 - 11:34 am

Just for the record…. this is Geoff a photographer… not Geoff the groom ;)

GeoffMay 20, 2010 - 11:33 am

These are so great!!

Jess/J3DesignzMay 20, 2010 - 9:35 am

bbmk, seriously one of my favorite weddings of yours of all time. These photos turned out beautiful!

jess@studio3zMay 20, 2010 - 9:31 am

ok, “go out on a limb” was the wrong phrase, maybe, “you were feeling extra adventurous” is more like it. I don’t know, something was so EXTRA FAB bonus. :)

jess@studio3zMay 20, 2010 - 9:29 am

WOW!!!! This wedding was unbelievable! SO many fantastic photos combined here. I feel a slightly different vibe to these as well….like you let yourself go out on a limb a bit more (am I right?)…and IT FREAKING ROCKS. The B&W above the jump shot, the jump shot, the B&W below jump shot, and the LAST b&W were my faves and so gorgeous. (and of course the bird photo, DUH.) ;)

Angi DavisMay 20, 2010 - 9:23 am

“Everyday Tamales”…AYKM??!! That’s a classic bbmk photo, for sure! And your dancing face = your game face, Bobbi – you are ON IT!! Nicey done.

gailMay 20, 2010 - 9:07 am

Oh my goodness…pure awesomeness right there. Not sure which shot I love more – the tamales pic or the seagulls. Why do you do, just have the trolley driver drive around down and stop for your awesomeness? I bet you do ;)

PS – I love that The Jerk is one of your favorite movies. “He hates these cans. Stay away from the cans!!!!!!!!” :)

PPS – What a kick-bootie color combo going on there too!

April FosterMay 20, 2010 - 9:03 am

I love the everyday tamales. I love the shot that the bride and groom look like they are flying. I love how hot this couple is. I love the color scheme. I love the little flower girl asleep on the pew. ok…I guess you could say I love it all :)

Nichole FrankMay 20, 2010 - 8:48 am

Gorgeous! The picture of Mike makes me laugh because I shot at this church in August of 2008. (The weekend after ALL of my equipment got stolen, but that’s a different story.) I consulted with the priest beforehand and he said the only place I could not go was the sanctuary. So, while crouched down getting a shot in the aisle, the priest STOPPED the wedding dead in his tracks glared at me and pointed for me to get out of the aisle! How mortifying!!!!!!! Luckily the bride and groom had a good sense of humor, because even they had been told I could go anywhere but the sanctuary.

tateMay 20, 2010 - 8:18 am

LOL @ the guy who wasn’t “happy” with you bumping into him on the dance floor. I love that shot. I love the birds – seriously? What’s next? real lions, elephants??? That would make amazing shots, eh? Bobbi on an elephant!

Betsy KingMay 20, 2010 - 7:34 am

I LOL’d like 3 times reading this post. Love it!

This wedding is HOT! Holy cats there are some BEAUTIFUL shots!!!

GORGEOUS BRIDE!

I’m a HUGE fan of grey and yellow. Those bags and those shoes on those cute girls? LOVE!!!

amanda falesMay 20, 2010 - 3:15 am

this seriously might be my favorite wedding you’ve ever done. not.even.kidding.

(i’m also up at 3:00 so i might be a pinch over-enthusiastic and a terrible speller. but! i’m really feelin’ this one here bob :) )

k, nite nite :)

BradMay 20, 2010 - 3:13 am

Seriously? It’s 2am on Thursday morning and I’m STILL the fifth comment? Still loving the seagulls.

ericaJMay 20, 2010 - 3:05 am

Umm hello amazingness. I love the symmetry photo. Also you should know that I love how personal you make your blog. Just in case you ever second guess that decision, know that there’s at least one person who loves that you take the time to write rather than just slap some pictures up on the blog. Oh and is your favorite movie “Up”? Gee I sound like a stalker! ha! Let’s call me an “intense follower” instead, eh? And to conclude this entry for the longest comment of the year contest: G’night, friend.

Amazing shots and a beautiful couple. The shot with the birds is my fav!

MaryMay 20, 2010 - 2:48 am

Wow!! You guys amaze me every single time! Your favorite image is by far one of the most amazing images I have ever seen in my life…anywhere. Jaw dropping! How badly I wish that was me in that photo so it could be an excuse to have it blown up really big in canvas on my wall..haha. Great job!

John HeilMay 20, 2010 - 2:48 am

love that shot of them with the birds! and the guys on the dock or whatever that it is. as usual, awesome sauce all around guys.

Between the lack of weigh ins and reading many of your Twitter updates/Facebook status’… it seems that many of you have hit a mini road block. BIGGG FLIPPIN’ DEAL! Who cares?! Just keeeep on it!

In high school, I worked closely with the mentally handicapped class. They were my buddies :) There was one girl named Clare who loved idioms. She’d shout them… loudly.  :) Towards the end of my senior year she was particularly fond of, “KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PICTURE PRIIIIIIIZE!!!!!” Every time I’m down in the dumps both personally and in biz… I can hear Clare shouting that in the back of my head.  Yeah yeah yeah, it’s probably a dorky thing but… for me, I know I’ll lose all of this weight some day!  You ALLLLL know it’s taken me a LONG time to lose the bit that I have… and I didn’t do it easily…. lose a little… gain a little… lose a little… gain a LOT… lose a little… etc, etc. etc. If it were easy… everyone would be healthy, y’know?

So…. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PICTURE PRIIIIIIIIIZE!!!!!!!!!!

On THAT note, of the 54 (out of 146) who HAVE weighed in…  here are our biggest losers :D

Jill Pollitt     11.11%
Michelle McDonnell    6.31%
Kathleen Stivers      6%
Stephanie Wortley    5.87%
Christopher Vandercook    5.03%

JILL?! Two weeks in a row of being on top… and 11%?! I’m BEYOND blown away!

OH! for those of you on the train, make sure that you report your TOTAL cumulative loss since the beginning in your column… not JUST the two weeks.

Also, PLEEEEEEASE weigh in FIRST thing Friday mornings, please?! :D It REALLY makes things easier on me ;)

Me… I didn’t have a GREAT two weeks.  This traveling is KICKING MY ASS!  Now many of you may recall that the last time I was doing this much traveling was July of last year… and THAT was when my train derailed… and derailed BIG TIME! So, the fact that I’ve been losing at all is HUGE for me. Even if it is just a littttttle bit ;)

Total % loss since April 2nd, 2010: 2.57%

Now for a tip…. something that ABSOLUTELY helped in the weight loss department.

A couple of months ago I put something up on Twitter/Facebook… something like “I don’t think I’m drinking enough water… need to fix that”  Someone (I can’t remember who) suggested that I buy a Camelbak water bottle. She said that she took it with her everywhere and the way that the straw was felt like a toy. She told me that she couldn’t stop drinking out of it. Hmmm… a toy? Not sure I believe that, but whatever… I’ll give it a try.

On to Amazon I went… and found an insulated one that had awesome reviews and bought it.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THE AMAZINGNESS THAT IS THIS WATER BOTTLE?! She was right… It REALLY does feel like a toy when you’re drinking out of it… and I REALLY do take it EVERYWHERE! I can’t stop drinking water! As a matter of fact… my body is becoming so used to all of this hydration that if I haven’t had water in only 30 minutes I’m feeling some serious cotton mouth. Oh, and one of the BESSSST things about this water bottle?! I will put ice in it and the ice will STILL be frozen 24 hours later. OH YES… YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!!!!! Mike has taken it to tennis and left it in the sun and it’s still cold two hours later. :D One more thing… it doesn’t sweat. :) So, no rings of water left behind. BOOOYAH!!!!

When I :::think::: I’m hungry (but really just bored), I just have a bit of water and it seems that the hunger goes away. It’s taken the place of bored snacking at the desk. Know what I mean by bored snacking? Eating food JUST to eat… not because you should be or need to eat? Well, I don’t do that anymore now :D Thank YOUUUUU Camelbak! ;)

DO NOT PASS GO… DO NOT COLLECT $200… BUY ONE NOW!!!!!!!!

Just a heads up, drinking out of the nozzle thing does take a bit to get used to… as you have to bite down on it to get it to open… but once you get the hang of it… you can’t stop!

There are less expensive Camelbak water bottles (un-insulated)… so if you can’t afford that one, do yourself a favor and just GET one :D

A few quick reminders:

  • Next official weigh in is May 28.
  • If you’re a twitterer, be sure to add the hashtag #healthytrain to your HT tweet.
  • Join  “bobbi’s healthy train” group on Facebook… ANYONE can join… not just the people with the before pics. My trainer is an admin … so if you have fitness questions, ask ‘em there!  Dane is also an admin, so if you have questions about diet/need motivation… he’s the guy to talk to. We’d love to have you… :D
  • You don’t have to be officially competing to participate.
  • If you haven’t measured yourself yet, DO IT!
  • We’ll be taking optional “progress pics” July 23 to keep the motivation levels high… OHHHH YESSSSSS!!!!
  • Finale date is October 29th.

Much love friends!

~bobbi :!:

EDITED TO ADD!!!!!

I’ve been thinking… let’s each make one goal to attain by next weigh in. Something small. Little changes that, hopefully after 2 weeks, will become a part of our lives.

Examples:

  • drink 64oz of water each day
  • walk the dogs every day after work
  • do not eat after 8pm
  • etc, etc, etc…

Mine? Work out 7 times before the next weigh in. I haven’t been so great at the working out because I’ve been SO ridiculously busy… so, with the upcoming travel schedule… 7 times won’t be easy… but I’m DEFINITELY going to try :D Wish me luck friends :)

What’s YOURS??? Don’t make anything toooo crazy and unattainable… set yourself up for success!

bobbiMay 24, 2010 - 12:52 am

WHEW! that’s a relief!!!!!! So glad you like it :)

Sara GreenMay 22, 2010 - 7:53 pm

So I totally did it. I bought the water bottle. I have been looking to buy a nice one so i could keep with me and drink all the time, and I always leave my water in the car and then it gets warm. So when I saw that this one keeps drinks cold I was SOLD! And I have to say I felt a bit silly spending $27 on a water bottle. But its totally worth it. Its awesome!

So thanks for your recommending it!

courtneyMay 20, 2010 - 12:52 pm

my mini goal is to drink more water daily. If I sit at a desk all day M-F it shouldn’t be so difficult to drink around 5 bottles a day. I will strive to make that happen.

MeredithMay 19, 2010 - 9:38 am

My goal for this next two weeks is to work out more but to also try exercises that I haven’t tried before. Our gym offers lots of different classes so I think by trying different ones I will find one that I really like!

betherlyMay 17, 2010 - 7:36 pm

Just entered my percentage. I was out of town without computer or scale access from Thursday to Sunday. Even with a trip to Chicago, my percentage went down. I think a bad case of strep throat helped with that. Getting ready to walk 3 miles tonight. I think I’ll make my goal for the next two weeks to be writing down everything I eat. It seems like when I do that I wind up only eating around 1500ish calories a day.

Heather ColeMay 17, 2010 - 3:49 pm

Wow – between a sick kid, a full schedule, a husband traveling Heather time went out the window those last two weeks. The trick for my success is finding a time for me…yeah…easier said that done. So no loss, but no gain. I guess I can’t win them all every time. :) Here’s to the next two weeks…..

LarisaMay 17, 2010 - 2:01 pm

My goal would be to stop the mindless snacking at work and at home. I’m really good with exercising and I’m sure the reason that I haven’t lost weight is because of the constant nibbling I do all day long.

JenMay 17, 2010 - 7:30 am

I totally can empathize with the junk in the office, Erica! It’s really hard for me to resist. Although I’m proud to say that I resisted a doughnut on Thursday!

I know I already said my goal, but I’m going to add a second one – keep a food journal. The last time I lost weight I kept one, and it was when I STOPPED keeping one that I stopped losing weight.

EricaMay 16, 2010 - 8:38 pm

My Goal For The Next Two Weeks: Don’t eat any of the junk that ends up in my office! So hard to resist! (Donuts, bagels, candy)

Jill SMay 16, 2010 - 10:55 am

Bobbi – I am the same way…friends suggest i get on sleeping pills – I say Hell to the NO…I’m learning to tell myself to just stop and go to bed, although I’m a light sleeper and usually wake up a couple times, but dang, when i do actually sleep – it’s amazing! Just ATTEMPTING a good normal nights rest makes a world of difference in my productivity and my mood and a better mood usually means I’m feeling better and ready to go! Loved to hear more solutions…to motivate me to sleep! ;)

KelliMay 15, 2010 - 9:59 pm

Oh my gosh!!! Those Camelback waterbottles are the best!!! I have just the plastic one, but I got an insulated sleeve for it (berry colored!) which is awesome and keeps it cold for hours! And plus it’s not cold to hold that way. I use it EVERY day everywhere I go! And yes, make sure you clean it because it gets moldy very easy – especially the straw and mouthpiece :( But I buy new ones every once in a while too, which is much easier than cleaning!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE you guys’ blog! Congrats on the weight loss…that is so awesome! Keep the great photos coming!

staceyMay 15, 2010 - 4:59 pm

these past 2 weeks have not been good weeks for me. I definitely slid back downhill versus uphill on my weight loss, however I did lose some weight. My small goal for the next 2 weeks it to get back into my exercise routine of 4x/week.

DaniMay 15, 2010 - 2:03 am

Had a hard time boarding the healthy train but had a really great week. A small loss but a big step. My goal for the next two weeks is to eat a healthy breakfast every day so I don’t binge at lunch because I’m starving!

StacyMay 14, 2010 - 10:18 pm

I am going to try not eating anything after dinner. Just water, and some gum if I head to the cupboard. Any exercise I sneak in will be a bonus.

Also, I have a large water bottle (800ml) for work, and I think if I only fill it up halfway I will get a bigger sense of accomplishment when I finish it, and maybe that will encourage me to drink more? Just a thought. Plus the water will be colder when I am drinking it!!!

Katie MathewsMay 14, 2010 - 8:48 pm

If that water bottle really doesn’t sweat, then I’m going to have to get me one. That’s the one thing I hate about glasses of water or water bottles…I want to quit drinking bottled water – expensive and not so great for the environment.

My mini goal for the next 2 weeks….to get in 300 fitness minutes. (That’s only about 20 minutes a day, or 30 min if I do 5 days etc)

MandyMay 14, 2010 - 8:38 pm

2 small goals until next weigh in – avoid eating after 8pm and NO MORE fruit rollups!!! I’m not sure what got into me the last couple of weeks, I just couldn’t resist them and could never just have one :( Excited for the next 2 weeks! :)

MollyMay 14, 2010 - 8:24 pm

I live a mile from the school wear I teach. I’ve gotten in bad habits lately of sleeping in and riding the bus, so for the next two weeks, I will walk everyday.

Thanks for holding me accountable!

Jodi PfunderMay 14, 2010 - 8:16 pm

It’s been slow going for me lately, but it made me feel better to see I’m in the same ballpark as Bobbi (being in the same anything as Bobbi just makes me happy)
Must.Start.Exercising.
And to make it an official goal: exercise at least 5x a week.
Let’s make that 4x.

ChristenBMay 14, 2010 - 5:52 pm

Good work everyone!!! I worked out 3 times (@ high intensity) this week which felt GREAT. My goal is to work out 3 times/week (at least) for 45 min. and TRY to keep a food journal – although I seem to skip on days I decide to enjoy a yummy treat. haha… selective memory?? if only my body worked that way too!

Kylene GayMay 14, 2010 - 4:35 pm

I definitely need to work on drinking more water! I carry a container around but if I get close to drinking it all I feel like I’m washing away! Did you see the Camelbaks that you strap on your back? Like a water backpack? That’s what i want! Then i could take it bike riding too. Oh that’s another goal! Ride at least 20 miles a week for the next 2 weeks! Done!!

JenMay 14, 2010 - 3:56 pm

Okay, so I feel ashamed because I haven’t been doing good. But I’m starting over again. My goal for the next two weeks is to get up at 6:30 every day and do at least SOME kind of exercise, even if it’s just the small exercises that I’m supposed to do twice a day for my physical therapist. And to go to bed at 10:30. I’ve decided that a big part of my problem is that my day lacks structure, so I’m going to try to fix that.

JenDMay 14, 2010 - 3:11 pm

My goal for next weigh-in is to drink some water every day. How sad is it that most days I don’t drink any water. Diet Coke upon waking….many more throughout the day and it is the last thing I drink before I brush my teeth for bed.

bobbiMay 14, 2010 - 2:42 pm

Remember team… don’t make your goals unattainable. I’d suggest just one goal at a time. And something TOTALLY doable. Fran… EVERY day? Let’s start small? like 3x a week at first. Just my 2¢

RhondaMay 14, 2010 - 2:41 pm

I have been getting back into water-drinking mode and cutting down my soda intake to almost none. That hasn’t been enoough for me, b/c i haven’t lost anything! I admit that I haven’t worked out once, so my goal is to work out 5x/week until next weigh-in!

FranMay 14, 2010 - 2:22 pm

My mini goal is to exercise for a least 30 minutes EVERY day!! Also get 7 hours of sleep each night and drink more water! NO BACKSLIDING!!!!!!!!!

Anna McClaryMay 14, 2010 - 1:56 pm

I found an equally as awesome water bottle called a Hydracoach http://amzn.to/9CloXh . I can set a goal amount on it, it gives me 24 hours to reach that goal, keeps track of what % I’ve drank, and like you said is a bit of a toy.

My mini goal, is to hit the gym 6 times before the next weigh in. I’ll have to get perfect to achieve it, because those are the only days I’m in town, and my in laws are even here during that time. I can do it though!

KailiMay 14, 2010 - 1:31 pm

I did not do good these past two weeks! my birthday was yesterday, so it was a little hard…I’m up a pound since beginning, but I’m gonna get better!!

kerriMay 14, 2010 - 1:15 pm

so, this week didn’t lose didn’t gain… still down a few pounds, which is an accomplishment in itself. my goal has been to walk at least 2 miles 5 days a week. my water consumption has been lacking as well, but i’ll re-ramp that up. it makes a huge difference.

good luck everyone!

bobbiMay 14, 2010 - 1:12 pm

You’ll need a carabiner to attach it… but yes, it’ll be great for camping!

Molly MarieMay 14, 2010 - 1:09 pm

CUTE! I totally hoped on that and bought one :) I like that it has a spot where can attach it to your backpack. It’ll be so nice for hiking/camping.

Cathy and DavidMay 14, 2010 - 1:04 pm

Didn’t have a chance to work out this week but we still lost weight! :)

StephanieMay 14, 2010 - 1:03 pm

My goal is when I go out, to cut everything on my plate in half and ask for a box before I even start eating. I always know I’m full halfway through my meal but I feel like seeing the food on my plate means I have to eat it. Well, no more!!

Jen HughesMay 14, 2010 - 12:59 pm

My workouts have been sporadic lately. I was working out at least 4-5 days a week. My goal is to get back into that habit. Starting tonight! I am walking the monon with a friend after work.

JessMay 14, 2010 - 12:56 pm

My main goal is to NOT snack while making my son’s food. I am constantly finding myself eating a bite of PB&J here, handful of animal crackers here…. just something I’m eating b/c it is in front of me. No more toddler snacks!

bobbiMay 14, 2010 - 12:55 pm

Jill… couldn’t agree more on the regular schedule thing!!!! I’m a sufferer of chronic insomnia… and it ABSOLUTELY doesn’t help with the weight loss! I think I’ll write more about that next week. Good call friendo!

Jill SMay 14, 2010 - 12:51 pm

definitely try to not eat so late!
I’d like to get back to regular workout routine – at LEAST 3x a week, even if its just for a short while, If i dont have motivation to run or do major cardio at LEAST go walk! I feel much better doing SOMETHING!

another thing that i noticed has helped – getting back to a regular schedule – going to bed at a decent hour rather than 3 or 4 in the morning and feeling sluggish all day.

MichelleMay 14, 2010 - 12:49 pm

Exercise as many days as possible and mix up the exercises.
Yard work, Zoomba, walking, Coach to 5k, Wii Fit

JennyMay 14, 2010 - 12:26 pm

Agree on the Camelbak….can’t stop drinking out of it! Even my 9 month old baby LOVES it and can drink out of it!

marieMay 14, 2010 - 12:07 pm

okay…finally weighed in today. It’s not been a good week for me, but I’m still losing weight–apparently just making better choices and chasing an 11 month old around is doing the trick ;-)

p.s. on the camelbak, make sure you disassemble it completely, often. There are all sorts of nooks and crannies in there that are great places for mold and ickiness to hide.

NessaMay 14, 2010 - 11:51 am

I am not “officially” a participant, but I have been following along, and I am excited to say that I have lost 11 lbs since the start, for a total of 4.1%! Woohoo!

[...] for introducing me to this amazing, life changing water bottle. She wrote about it in one of her blog posts and I was like, I need to get that. It has changed the way I drink water, I liked to drink it before [...]

kristi+kyle

How flipping awesome is this golf course?! Overlooking Cincinnati?! LOVE IT! However, as you may be able to tell by looking at this photo…. the weather was complete shiz.  As a matter of fact, with the guaranteed rainy forecast… we were shocked to see that they didn’t cancel. That was… until we met them! It still rained most of the morning. ;)

You see, they had the entire golf course to themselves. ENTIRE GOLF COURSE!!!!! Take a group of six men drinking Bud Light who are completely alone on a huge golf course… and what do you get?! THIS! HAHAHAHA! Maybe this photo isn’t necessarily blog appropriate… but I couldn’t resist! I guess they decided that if, on a previous hole, one of them swung at a bad shot… that on the next tee off, they’d have to pull their pants down.  Mike caught PLENTY of photos with men in their boxers…. COMPLETELY harmless. Well, a few of them were out laaaaaate the night before…. drinking…. so, MAYBE someone FORGOT that they weren’t wearing underwear when they dropped their pants! As I was editing through this, I didn’t notice it on the first 2 run throughs., as he was wearing light pants that kinda looked like the color of his skin… then on the final edit… REEEEEEWINNNNNND!!! IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS??!!!?!?? A little surprise just for Bobbi ;) HA!

Golf+lunch took longer than it was supposed to (story of my wedding photography life!) and while I’m usually pretty low key about timelines getting screwed up… that day, I wasn’t :) The forecast showed rain that was going to DOWNPOUR VERY SOON! I told Mike to tell those men to MOOOOVE :D And move they did :) :) :) Here they all are half dressed in the elevator on their way. :D   If you hadn’t rushed, NONE of the photos that I got before the ceremony would have happened. So from the bottom of my little heart, THANK YOU!!!!!

HA!

Love the irony here… the bride taking a photo of the bridesmaids :D At first, I let her take the photo because I knew it’d be a fun image… then I grabbed the camera from her so that she could get in it. SEE! I’m nice :) (just a bittttt fiesty when the rain is coming ;) )

Their first site was perfect :)

THEN… it was GOOOOO TIME!!!!!!

This wedding color palette was one of my favorites. gray+burgandy+a splash of pink. Whooooda thunk it?! :D Kristi’s a graphic designer… most brides never would have put this combo together!

The on-site wedding coordinator was shocked when I put them up there for this photo (on the left). You see, this wedding happened at a nature preserve.  So, why would someone take a photo against the building when there’s so much gorgeous nature behind us?! She said “I’ve been here for a long time, and I have to say… that’s a first! I’ve never seen a wedding photographer take that shot” I thought to myself, well… you’ve never met bobbi+mike! ;) I happen to LOVE the photo!!!!! It’s Mike’s favorite :?:

If that coordinator hadn’t been gathering the bridal party for photos she might have DIED when I took these shots. You see, as I already mentioned, we were limited on time because of the rain. As we were running through the parking lot to catch up with the bridal party… I was just shooting anything I saw. And THIS was what we saw :D WACKY BOBBI STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!!!

ARE YOU KIDDDDDDING ME WITH THOSE GRAY SUITS?! Please… future grooms, take note ;)

HOLY HOT BRIDESMAIDS BATMAN!

and HEEEERE was the rain. OHHH YES… We do have the best couples. Grab an umbrella and MAKE IT WORK! ;)

That umbrella…. we bought it specifically for this wedding :) And now… it’s part of the bb+mk collection. :D   Oh, and hands down… MY FAVORITE! :!:

Mike’s view… (see me there? ;) )

Mine :D

On the way there…. for a small window of time… the rain stopped. :D We hopped out of the limo for just a fewwwww more shots.

I love all things first dance :) Don’t you?

Such an awesome night… :D

kristi+kyle:

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Kristi: Dancing with my father.  We always went to rock concerts together so the song was perfect for us!!
Kyle: Saying I do

What was your favorite detail?
Our unity service.  We used colored water instead of a candle.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Kyle couldn’t get the ring on my finger during the ceremony.  My finger must have swelled from being so anxious!!  When we turned around for the unity service, I had to tell Kyle to pause so I could shove it on! (The photos from that are hilarious, btw ;) )

What was your favorite wedding purchase?
Bobbi + Mike……….duuuuhhh!!! (thank you friends :) You two are the best best best!!!!)

bobbi+mike:

What was our favorite part of the day?
bobbi
:
1) the moment right before the walk down the aisle with kristi and her dad. 2) The limo ride to the reception. What was supposed to be a 27 seater really only fit 18 with 1 photographer on the floor. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in a limo… this was a CRAAAAAAZY bunch!!! (if you couldn’t already tell by the images!) 3. when Kristi said to me,”Bobbi, if you weren’t our wedding photographer, and we’d known you already… you and Mike totally would have been invited to our wedding, we love you guys!”
mike
:
Well…I feel like I should say the ceremony or first dance or something mushy like that.  I don’t really do mushy.  :) The golf outing was by far the most entertaining I’ve photographed so far. I would play a round with these guys any day! BTW grooms, if you’re golfing the morning of your wedding and some of the guys have no idea what they’re doing…play a scramble type format.  Everyone will have a good time!

MUCH LOVE FRIENDS!

~bobbi+mike :!: + :?:

You may be thinking to yourself, “How did Bobbi get such beautiful locks?” or, “I didn’t know Mike had such curly tresses?!” The rain. Oh yes… THE RAIN! You’re welcome for that beauty tidbit ;)

Me and my brides! (That’s Courtney on the right).

In the “getting ready” room… I noticed a skinny mirror :D I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the skinnyness :D . I went to snap and Kristi couldn’t resist, either! ;) This photo CRACKS me up!!!!

Mike is the definition of gentleman. :) But, you already knew that…

Wacky Bobbi IN action! ;)

So, how did my hair go from a sleeeeek rain melted ponytail to a frizzy mess? WELLLL… in our unboxed booth, Courtney wanted a photo with me. I handed my camera over to Jordan.  We posed :) LITTLE DID WE KNOW THAT HER EARRING WAS ATTACHED TO MY HAIR!!!!!!! Jordan, of course, kept on shooting ;) Courtney, how can your “pain face” be so cute while mine is so uhm… NOT?!

:!: + :?:

ClaryMay 18, 2010 - 11:49 am

Good God!! You make me love rain on a wedding day which is CRAZY. You two are awesome!

NicolaMay 16, 2010 - 11:37 pm

ShellyMay 14, 2010 - 11:53 am

AMAZING!!!! I’m loving the shots you got for this wedding!!

Amy (Smith)May 14, 2010 - 10:55 am

Kristi looked sooo beautiful … love the dress, shoes, and color combo. The gray groom suits are very sleek. The umbrella pic is also my fav and I love when wacky bobbi strikes!! Congrats Kristi + Kyle :)

bobbiMay 14, 2010 - 10:15 am

Christine, that’s PRECISELY why I clarified. It wasn’t cold, I promise ;)

ChristineMay 14, 2010 - 2:18 am

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh MAN, this wedding makes my day! Everything is superb, like usual. Thanks for clarifying that the dude’s pants were light colored and that’s why you didn’t notice “it” in your first round. …otherwise, I would have thought maybe it was cold out there. ;) hehe, I couldn’t resist. Great work, Bobbi & Mike!

BritMay 13, 2010 - 11:41 pm

Bobbi!! I’m so dying over that golf course photo!

These pictures are great! I love that cone shot. You two are always so good at getting some fun, outside the box photos, which I LOVE!

lindsay perryMay 13, 2010 - 7:47 pm

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard at a blog post about a wedding!! Hi-larious!! And totally loving the shots with the umbrella! Too cute

lauraMay 13, 2010 - 7:21 pm

Lovely photos, as always! I need one of those umbrellas — where did you get it?

bobbiMay 13, 2010 - 5:40 pm

Hey Dana… wow… talk about OOOOLD SCHOOOOL with that Applebee’s reference! :) And yes… that is our logo on the buckle. Though… we’re in the process of having it updated with our brand refresh :) Thanks for saying hi!!!

richMay 13, 2010 - 5:08 pm

Dick on the blog :) !! Epic :)

Dana EmerickMay 13, 2010 - 5:04 pm

Bobbi:
I have been following your blog for a LOOONG time. We actually worked together at Applebee’s in T-Haute back in the day. I loved you then and I am amazed at your work. YOU ROCK!! One question…the picture of you & Mike with the bride and groom is your logo on your belt buckle?? If so I think it is adorable and totally orginal!!

Amanda WilcherMay 13, 2010 - 2:53 pm

This wedding goes on my favorites lists!!!! Oh, and the coordinator…that is the story of my life as I know it. :) The umbrella photo is ahmaaaazinggg!

Stephanie StewartMay 13, 2010 - 2:39 pm

My new favorite wedding of yours! Absolutely gorgeous…cannot pick a favorite…love all the ones in the rain, especially that killer reflection and that umbrella shot that is your favorite. The bride and groom have to be going absolutely GAGA over these!

jean smithMay 13, 2010 - 1:53 pm

the session i just posted last night was from that same day. on friday night when we were talking about shooting in the rain i was hoping neither of us would have to deal with it. i totally thought of you guys while we were shooting…but with the timing i was hoping you made it dry to the ceremony! glad you did:) they look great. the orange cones shot is sweet…

How beautiful you are Kristi!! My fav is the photo of the reflection of you and Kyle in the rain puddle!!! Smacks of class! What a happy day!

Love the addition of the dance songs and fav moments for the bride and groom – sweet!

So much I love about this post! Props to the couple for first dance song selection. I emailed this post to my man bc he doesn’t think grey suits are “cool” for weddings…so thanks for the plug Bobbi :) Love the park bench picture and the umbrella picture!

Bobbi + Mike! They’re perfect! The pantless golfing – typical Kyle idea ;) and what a great capture! You have managed to bottle up Kristi and Kyle individually and as a couple in each of these photos! My favorites are the rain puddle reflection, under the clear umbrella close up AND the one against the building that the coordinator was surprised you shot. You two were a blast at the reception, of course! Bravo as usual!!! muah!

Gorgeous shots of course! I love your hair! Mine is usually stick straight, but I’m moving to Coastal California from Arizona, so I gotta pay attention to the tricks of the trade for keeping down the friz! Thanks for always posting photos of yourself, I now wonder what I look like while shooting ;)

me is the love. I had a bride just walk around nekkid in belize and I’m like “do you want me to turn around, stop taking photos?” “Huh? Like you haven’t seen any of this before?” was her response. Yes ma’am – needless to say I pulled some Austin Power object love.

Fave is the one w them holding the orange whatchacallit cones & the one of them walking away under the umbrella. Love.

Inspiration, you are!
